Do You Gamble?

Not on a $5.00 lotto ticket or an occasional trip to Vegas.

I mean serious gambling on sports, poker, horses, dogs, craps, roulette, slots and so on at a local casino, on line, or even on with a bookmaker.

If so would you consider yourself good at any of them and would you care to share your strategies?

The Porn Nerd 08-09-2014 12:08 PM

Yes.
I run paysites.

DWB 08-09-2014 12:15 PM

Only with my life. I think I'm pretty good at it because I'm still alive.

I was good in blackjack and also spent some money each week during years in sports gamble. But seriously I dont recommend any kind of gamble. It is not a nice activity, does not help anyone, most people lose their money and even get ruined.

Any casino game is math issue, and you have always disadvantage. I did not found to play against real people more funny than software, just laughting on chat some times. It is easy to learn blackjack and also other card games. Slots are the worst you can do.

Please take care and dont spend money in this stuff.

I operate several systems (paid and my own). These took years of research (and huge incurred costs due to testing as most are rubbish). My biggest problem nowadays is that I am either banned or heavily restricted from all the main online bookmakers.

Bookmakers hate winning accounts.

bushwacker 08-09-2014 03:27 PM

I play line moves. Bahamian casinos are notoriously slow in updating their lines.

I agree. I have stopped since 2008 and never looked back.

I did fairly well on blackjack (actually hit 21k online, lost all but 3k of it during a weekend - started with $100!!!), poker I lost a ton on. I was 18-20 during my stupid gambling phase. I still have a problem, but seriously porn took my mind off it and I have been able to think clearly ever since. :) so thanks gfy.

Roald 08-10-2014 01:56 AM

no. If I want to get rid of my money I know better more satisfying ways.

Simon 08-10-2014 03:20 AM

Not for a long time. Actually not since the mid-80s, but for about 10 years my crew played a lot of backgammon, between ourselves and out at the clubs against any players. No casino play or any tournaments, just private games with plenty of doubling on the come.

Petra 08-10-2014 03:29 AM

This probably doesn't speak well for my mother, but she used to take me to the track and let me play the horses. I was good and during the triple crown races she'd always bet whatever I did. I could probably quote the stats of every trainer, jockey and horse that was relevant at the time.

However, after stepping out of the horse world I lost touch and probably wouldn't make much.

webgurl 08-10-2014 12:02 PM

Im a poker player.

PornDiscounts-V 08-10-2014 02:33 PM

I don't enjoy gambling which is why I play poker.

Lots of my friends bet on sports and they only seem to remember the wins. While I remember all of their horror story losses. Watching them blows my mind. Why keep doing it?

I go to Facebook and a friend of mine from the industry is posting about sports betting. I come to GFY and a fake nick is talking about the same thing.

When I apply rule 39 ("There is no such thing as coincidence") and put two and two together... I know who you are.

the only game that is worth gambling on IMO is blackjack. Without a strategy you have 15.5/1 odds. If you use a progressive betting strategy (which can be found on B78NY.com) you can reduce the houses odds to under one percent. Nevertheless, the best way to win money is not to gamble IMO.

Joshua G 08-10-2014 06:38 PM

whenever i gamble, its on sports. i get a win or 3 in the bag & think i can grow rich with my bright ideas. Problem is, i convert into an action junkie & i start being on anything. When i lose i chase, & it does not end until there is zero in the bank. So i cant gamble anymore.

but there are winning strategies if you have brains & balls.

My most solid winning angle is in the NBA, betting against playoff quality teams on the tail end of a weeklong road trip. The NBA rigs the schedule so the best teams sometimes face the worst teams after playing 3 games in 4 nights. This is why terrible teams sometimes beat the playoff teams, cause the better team is exhausted. the playoff team is always laying points despite the fatigue. the tell is when the oddsmaker makes that favorite unusually small. Thats a sucker bet & you should be on the dog. Its a rock solid money maker but you have to wait until the spot happens.

another good angle is betting the much better defense in the NFL. The superbowl was an extremely public example of this strategy at work. When the best offense faces the best defense, & the best offense has crappy D, bet the better D.

in college football its a good idea to lay the heavy favorites, because the september games are mostly non conference & the big chalks cover. once the schedule turns to conference play, gotta reverse course & find the good dogs. the late season is where the casual bettor, who killed it in september, gets killed.

in baseball, nothing else matters except pitching. & nothing is as sweet as winning money on a CG shutout. When the team you bet against cant get past 2nd base, its like free money.

& the best advice i can give is to learn from your mistakes & avoid repeating them. this advice is easy to say & so hard to do.

:)

Only real gambling I?ve done over the years is horse betting and craps when I visit a casino which is very rare but I thank you all for some interesting responses.

Except perhaps for this one,
