http://www.cnbc.com/id/101967509 "Ceballo and Joseph Cruz represent electronic reseller BuyBackWorld and were the first people in line before Jason and Moon Ray paid them $2,500 to secure the top spots in line. While waiting, the Rays are promoting an app from VideoMedicine that allows patients to Skype with doctors. For the fifth year, Ceballo waited with Cruz. He estimates he has made $7,000 waiting for Apple launches in addition to building his social media following. Meanwhile, Robert Samuel, founder and owner of professional line-waiting service S.O.L.D. or Same Ole Line Dudes, already has orders for seven iPhone 6s and one inquiry from an iPhone re-seller despite the uncertainty." |
Lining up for what, a new fucking iPhone? Is it that time of year already?
No way I'm waiting in line to buy a phone. Ever. |

I'll buy one for sure but wouldn't wait in line for damn near anything. Few weeks wait doesn't hurt gives it time for any bugs/security issues to be found before I get mine. :2 cents:
|
Dip in the stock today. Buying as much apple stock as I can while it's down. $$$
|
If you painted rocks with their numbers in line for the new Iphone or whatever it is. I am positive you could sell them all.

I love how apple always blames the users for everything.. gotta love those iSheople :helpme You couldn't pay me to stand in line for a apple product.. Actually I take that back. I hear some people pay people to stand in line for the next big thing and if I was paid well enough I would stand in line for some stupid person.. |

Are they that crazy, or doing that for fame and money?
|
christ, bunch of retards. Still people do that? It's really getting old...
even standing in line for days is not hip/original anymore. I think at this point apple has to be paying them, i cant imagine anyone still doing this for real. |

stupidity knows no boundaries

the shame is three hours into waiting, their iphones will have no more battery life and they will have to pass the time with something else. Now on my note I can bring 50 fully charged batteries with me.
|
Time to make serious money and sell phones on ebay :)

98.875% of the commenters did not read the article and responded with a knee-jerk "apple fanboys are idiots" comment.
1. I applaud the ingenuity and creativity of the opportunistic hippies (and small businesses) in line who are making a quick buck by doing nothing but sitting around. (extra points for maximizing their income by promoting something else as well while sitting there). I'm pretty sure by their standards what they will be earning is considered pretty good for the amount of time they put in. 2. I applaud the people that are paying other people to wait in line to save their own time that is clearly more valuable than whatever they are paying. And in the case of people whose time isn't worth more -- as long as they can afford it, who cares? Live and let live. 3. Most companies WISH they had the trust, brand power and following that Apple has. Any entrepreneur worth their salt will appreciate most of the above points about what's *really* happening here. The bottom line: Consider and analyze the concept (and maybe even consider how you could use it in your businesses) instead of criticizing it without understanding it first. |

Back in the day, people would wait days in lines for concert tickets.

Couldn't agree more Mickey. Never understood the hate on either side of the device landscape. Use what works for you. I switched to all Apple products almost 8 years ago. I could never go back, I love them. If someone loves PC stuff, good for them, that's what you like.
There is something interesting about haters. Their comments come from a place inside that hurts them. This hurt causes them to act out and attempt to remove the individualism and personal choice that everyone has. They give away that they are haters by trying to play it off as something benign, but inside they're pushed by something dark and hateful like jealousy or lack of compassion for others. I do think it's funny that no one knows what they're releasing next week, but they want it. I think I will pay someone to sit at the store here in the mall so I can get whatever it is they're selling first. I love my Apple products! |

There are going to be some pissed off people in the stores on Tuesday when they find out that there is no more ATT subsidy on the phones and everyone will pay full whack of 699 and 499 respectively. LOLZ. That will really thin out the herd as far as buying the first day. I buy a phone a year so I don't care, I'm never under the upgrade clause. Going to be interesting.
