Heh, there was a time when most sites had a splash page and the "Leave" or "Exit" link sent people to Disney or similar.. then many just linked to Google. That may be the last time I can recall that this industry did anything en masse, and it wasn't even an organized group effort :)

That said, I think there's no question that the adult industry helped with the early adoption of Google as the alternative to the established engines at the time.
