Questions about Google penalty

Hello everyone,

Like many webmasters promoting cams,i received a manual penalty for "thin content with little or no added value".This part i understand, generated content from another site so i need to add some own content(blog, reviews, whatever). What i dont fully understand is the concept of doorway pages stated as possible reason for the penalty. In other words,if i put a "SIGN UP" button with my affiliate link in it,on any part of the page that loads every time like nav bar, would it be considered a doorway page?
Did anyone managed to remove this kind of penalty?

Thanks for sharing!

As a wl, once it has been hit, it will remain like that till you completely change the website into something else then a wl.

Regarding the doorway pages, never received that in the past.

Are sites built on API considered WL?

if you don't clone the WL sites, then i guess it's not.

google is unable to find out whether a website is a WL, unless there's exactly the same copy of a website, or at least very very similar (duplicated content). saying it simply: if you use content on a WL site that no one was using, then you are free to use it without any penalty. unlike overused WL out there...

... and the WLs are on the same IP, are they not? So it is easy for Google to find them all.

Having a call to action in the nav bar has nothing to do with being a doorway page... they throw that term around all the time in their penalties, it's like a broad description of what you may have done.

Sounds like you just don't have any original content on your site, it's obviously an affiliate page, so why would they want to rank your site over somebody else's?

Get some original content if you want to do SEO, otherwise you're better off running paid traffic.

Thank you all for your answers.I guess i should start building some content before request a review from google.

Host all content on your site, have different images and texts from others. Reusing content of others and linking to it from your pages doesn't bring added value to visitors so you get penalized.

I should also note, if you already have a manual penalty and you don't have any original content on there, you're better off just scrapping the domain and starting with a new one most likely. No reason to start off with a handicap when you haven't even done any work on it yet.

Yeah,i thought about it too.Friendly advice for newbies like me.Don't put a WL on a domain that you plan to develop later. You will only get a penalty and start with a handicap.Took google only 2 days to hit me.

You should look at WL like a tour page not as a website with unique contents itself or you'll have a hard time. :2 cents:
