ClickCash Celebrates 18th Anniversary
On September 22, 1996, ClickCash.com opened the door to all webmasters and work-from-home entrepreneurs interested in making money in the burgeoning adult website scene.
The first-ever online adult affiliate program, ClickCash began paying webmasters 2 cents per click for each visitor they referred to their websites. Innovative affiliates took part to popularize some of the web's earliest adult brands, including FastPorn and Amateur Hardcore.
By 1998, affiliate payouts had increased to $40 per free signup to iFriends, the adult webcam site. Affiliates who jumped at the opportunity enjoyed conversion rates of 1 in 20 and better.
"There wasn't a framework for internet users to promote adult websites 18 years ago. There wasn't anything that could scale and be profitable. So we thought hard about it, and then we built it?, says Stacy Michelle, Affiliate Relations Manager.
