Now, This is a really bad idea!

The Beeb ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/29322764 ) and other news outlets are going on about Emma Watson being the next victim of the fappening due to a website threatening to troll her but if you go to the site mentioned- http://www.emmayouarenext.com - it has now changed and it turns out that it's just a PR related anti 4Chan site!

" We have been hired by celebrity publicists to bring this disgusting issue to attention. The recent 4chan celebrity nude leaks in the past 2 months have been an invasion of privacy and is also clear indication that the internet NEEDS to be censored. Every Facebook like, share & Twitter mention will count as a social signature -- and will be one step closer to shutting down www.4chan.org. "
This is really stupid on so many levels, for starters 4Chan will go into overdrive on this (not that I care too much about those idiots anyway) but mainly because this is one of the most foolish PR stunts I've ever seen, all those people badly fooled into the social media sharing of what turns out to be a politically-inspired PR attempt at internet censuring.

I know it sound's not the best, but if the clebs didn't want people to see these pics shared of them, then why take the pics in the first place?

I mean, OK, it would not be nice to have nude pics shared of one's self, if famous, all over the net, but come on, why put themselves into that position in the first place....

Oh, and as for 4chan, it will get past this, and one could guess more publicity for the site, /s/ and /pol/.

nah, I can't agree with that mate - as some bird the other day put it, that's the equivalent of saying 'she shouldn't have worn a short skirt' :) Privacy shouldn't be violated, no matter who you are :thumbsup

Message: Privacy shouldn't be violated. The Internet should be censored.

Am I the only one that sees the irony? :winkwink:

the thing is, those people were tricked by this "stunt" they originally thought they were just protesting at 4Chans actions not at what this site's goal actually was.

There's anger on Facebook after a website that had threatened to reveal naked photos of Emma Watson was uncovered as a viral marketing hoax.
The EmmaYouAreNext.com now redirects to the front page of a social media company in the US called Rantic.
A message on the firm's front page calls for anonymous online message board 4chan to be shut down.
The website was blamed for hosting the threat to Emma Watson with a countdown towards the release of nude pictures.
However, when the timer ended it started to link through to the marketing company's website.
The fake threat to Emma Watson was put up online hours after the 24-year-old launched the HeForShe campaign in a speech at the UN on Sunday in which she appealed to men to speak out over gender equality.

I don't agree with fakes, it must be awful being in a position to have fake topless pics on the internet. But anything real, in the media eye, there will always be leaks.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 4chan launch a massive DDOS attack against Rantic in retaliation.
