Innocent young lady jailed for a month because of spaghetti sauce on a spoon.

Cops told her it was methamphetamine.
She was a passenger in a car the cops pulled over and the cops saw the spoon in her "bag".
Why were they even looking in her "bag"?

Yeah, but I wouldn't be all that hopeful.
The cops will twist that probable cause shit so tight that anything they do makes since to sheep in a court room.

She's not playing for the NFL dog.
They can't charge someone with doing drugs last year.

The first two weeks she spent in jail were the police's fault. The rest was her own. Even though she was innocent she should have went to court and waited for the lab results to clear her.

I have a feeling this isn't the first time she has had run is with the law.

She's was at fault because the police were at fault so I'd say it's a default and she needs to get paid.

I think she is going to get paid as well. There are several things here to bring up in her case including how a field test kit can return a positive meth result on spaghetti sauce and then how she had to sit in jail for 2 weeks after that happened.

Many people, if they were sent to jail for 2 weeks would likely lose their jobs and have serious problems in their lives from it.

As far as the second stint in jail is concerned, she could have avoided that.

The story I read said she ate Spagettios from a can in the car as a snack {ewww}. So do Spagettios have any meth-y ingredients? Not that I can tell.

Water, Tomato Puree (Water, Tomato Paste), Enriched Macaroni Product (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Ferrous Sulfate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), High Fructose Corn Syrup, Contains Less than 2% of: Salt, Enzyme Modified Cheddar Cheese (Cheddar Cheese [Cultured Milk, Salt, Enzymes, Calcium Chloride], Water, Disodium Phosphate, Enzymes), Flavoring, Potassium Chloride, Vegetable Oil (Corn, Cottonseed, Canola and/or Soybean), Enzyme Modified Butter (Milk), Skim Milk, Paprika Extract, Citric Acid

"Van Rossem speculated that the reason the crime lab analysis took so long was simply because of the sheer volume of cases the lab needs to process."

They must be testing a lot of speghettio's samples.

I wonder if one of those chemicals might have given a false positive. Sometimes meth has some seriously nasty shit in it.

That's some shit you just made up.

The cops are wasting time and money by even arresting someone for "residue".
I could see if they found lab equipment to match residue, but otherwise it's a stupid waste of tax money.

Tom_PM 10-02-2014 08:46 AM

Spoon? Is that the metal dealie you use to dig food?

"The average score nationally for police officers is 21 to 22, the equivalent of an IQ of 104, or just a little above average."

its less of a barring and more of a 'we can place you some place higher than street cop...'

You don't need a high iq to follow orders or to be moral.

all they had to do is follow her a couple days. she will lead them to a meth lab :1orglaugh look at her she has a habit :2 cents:

According to the article, those with high scores were not even interviewed and the court considers it a reasonable means of combating high turnover rates. They don't deny it or explain it away. I'd say we're living the outcome today and I would ask "hows it workin for ya" in a Dr Phil accent.
