Stupid greedy HP dumb asses
Im pissed off now, I got an officejet pro 8600 with cyan and yellow depleted. Need to print a document by tomorrow morning. The stupid printer tells me I need to purchase new ink for cyan and yellow even though im only going to print a document in black/white.
Yea I know what this is, it's a business decision made by the HP executives to sell more ink. Good business decision HP, here's my decision: Next time I wont buy a HP printer. Thanks HP dumbasses I did some searches for this problem and it looks like im not the only one getting furious by this. |
Same issue I have but my printer is not HP. Seems they have all caught on to this... even if my black is full and one other color is low it won't print.
|
Canon printer FTW I guess
|
Printers are fucking nightmares. Inkjet printers are the absolute worst, everyone i had is NOT able to print something quick: Paper stuck, white stripes, ink low after 10 prints... There is no 'let me print this out right now' with inkjet printers.
|
The fucking scanners on printers are the worst

Switch to greyscale

Brother Laser 3 in 1 printer for me.
I Learned how to reset the cartridges to get double the out put and I found a spot on Amazon where i can buy laser toner in a bottle super cheap. Its so easy to refill the cartridges and reset them. I just watch the youtube video if i forget. So worth it!! Especially with everything I have to print. Ink Jet is a rip off if your doing a bunch of printing. Just Dave |
Same here, only that I have Canon
|
Canon fucks you over as well. My printer does the same fucking thing. They are all evil...might as well give the printers away with what they charge for ink!
|
We print most things at a print store here. 1 copy is about 6 cents
|
Down and dirty quick temporary solution... ???
Remove the 'empty' cartridge, and look at the back of it - The part that faces away from you and into the printer. Towards the bottom, there should be a very small (pin head size) hole. The printer shoots a small lazer into this hole when asked to print. If it doesn't 'come back' straight away, it assumes that the ink is empty, and instructs the printer to fuck with you.... (not print) So, take a black sharpie, and color in the tiny hole. When lazer fires, it comes back immeaditly, as if it was full of ink, and allows normal function. Try it - I'm not kidding :thumbsup |

And here I thought you were just another pretty face! |
the game is sell printers at cost or at a loss and make it up on ink
not anything new :2 cents::2 cents::2 cents: |

p.s. If I don't have a sharpie marker, can I rub poo on it instead? |
It gets better than this, my Canon printer with scanner would not scan because one of the cartridges was empty.
Because you need ink to use the scanner... |

It needs to come back at the exact distance that it should. Not half a Millimetre either way :( Also bear in mind, its a temp solution. One the lazer has fired a couple of times, you need to re-sharpie it again. I guess the lazer slightly burns it away. |
That's why I loved my ~8 year old inkjet printer. It had 5 separate ink tanks, and the low ink dialog was a warning rather than an error (you could still click OK to proceed). It died last year.
When you can buy a printer new for $20 you just know they're ripping you off with consumables in the long run. |
Printers Suck
Epson is the same way all the cartridges need ink. The Cyan ran out the other day. Put a new one in and it says the Cyan is almost empty.
I bought a Samsung color laser printer. I told it to print in gray scale and the printer was also using the color inks. Opening up the program there was a "color management" button. I clicked on it and it took me to a Samsung page, but nothing about color management was on that page. Piece of crap wore out printing 5 reams of paper. Nothing like looking all over the city and only finding 1 black cartridge at $125 30 miles away and a close store carries them for $55. But when you have to be in court the next day you don't have time to wait. |

I have a black and white $100 brother hl-2130 laser printer.
It ran out of toner after like 500 pages, at which point i did some trick to reset the cartridge and 1000 pages or so later it still has toner... |
This is one of the things as a consumer I get completely furious about. Being deceived in this case is like getting gangraped by the printing cartel.
Anyway this is my first change and I can vithout hesitation say im far from the 1500 pages the ink cartridges are supposed to last. Honestly I doubt I have printed 400 pages. This time im going to try out some 3rd party inks with 3 years warranty and see if those last longer, obviously the previous ones were original HP ink carts programmed to get depleted ahead of time. So I got raped twice! |
Buy a different printer. My basic mono laserjet cost less than £50 and cheap cartridges are £10.
|
unless you really need to print in color, just buy a business grade laser b/w printer...
it's not going to cost $20, but you will be able to print 1000s of pages at great quality, quickly and with no drama at all for many years... |
