Twin Peaks Returns

Where there?s smoke there?s? cherry pie!
Turns out all of that Twin Peaks revival buzz was much ado about something. Showtime confirmed on Monday that it has given the green light to a nine-episode revival of David Lynch and Mark Frost?s seminal ?90s drama series.

This would not be a reboot but a present-day continuation ? in the same vein as TNT?s Dallas. Lynch and Frost will pen all nine episodes, with Lynch directing every installment. Production will begin in 2015 and air in 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of the series finale.
Ahead of Showtime?s formal announcement, Lynch and Frost released the following video on Twitter early Monday:

What?s more, Showtime will re-air the first two seasons of Twin Peaks, in advance of the new episodes airing in 2016.
Rumors of a new Twin Peaks project spread like wildfire Friday after Lynch and Frost published the following identical tweets:

The seminal ABC series recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special Blu-ray release Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery, featuring more than 90 minutes of deleted scenes.
Which original Twin Peaks characters do you want to see brought back in Season 3?

"I'll see you again in 25 years"

Any one remembers?

I wonder what they'll do with the absence of the actors who played BOB and Pete Martell. They seem irreplaceable to making the show work, esp. BOB.

What are you waiting for???

I watched the first episode and I wanted to stop it because lack of action but after a few episodes and after watching all two seasons....

It ends in really strange way... but for sure it is the best tv show ever made, at least for me.

It's stunning for a TV mystery. It's actually mysterious. The mood, the characters, the surreal quality of how the story is told, are something different. It has a slow hypnotic movement, a style like a boxer in slo-mo. It hit me with tremendous energy and made me abandon despair at the state of TV mysteries.

I am so excited about this. I am a huge Lynch Twin Peaks fan. The only celeb that ever made me nervous was Special Agent Dale Cooper

Why is that?

Do you guys remember the ending?

I mean the last scene of the show.

I believe that the people that want Twin Peaks back never saw the series (the second season it's unbearable) or "Fire Walk With Me"...

As a huge fan of the TV show, I went into this film as a tender and reasonably innocent for my age, 20 year old. I was totally enthralled from beginning to end. I still cherish it to this day as an engaging piece of art. Nice use of the soundtrack in your sub headings by the way.
