After Only Coin, I don't think I will ever "preorder" again. Apparently companies are now using "preorders" as a Kick Starter/crowdsourcing sort of fundraising method, which is wrong. A preorder is a preorder. If you want to run a Kick Starter campaign, go to Kick Starter.

chip cards are impossible to clone...they contain a floating code that is never revealed and the moment you clone the chip you fry both cards the original and the copy...

+ if you insert this "plastic card" in to any ATM and it is missing the visa holo or the master then you can kiss it goodbye :1orglaugh it is completely useless for ATM...

+ if you try the card in any shop where you are not an absolute regular they will not even swipe it

I bought 4 of the Coin cards and had the transaction refunded. The battery only lasts a few years and then you have to buy a new one for 150 bucks each. They look good from the outside, but once I started to dig into it, it quickly becomes a pain in the ass. They do a good job of glossing over the marketing and making you not think of the things that you will hate about it.

I am not sure that is true, the EMV-cards can be cloned.

it is not something you can "copy"...there is nothing to "hack" either...to over-simplify it you have a large chunk of encrypted data that you can not even browse but you can ask "questions" and it will or will not give you an answer...no connection to PIN...

you might be able to replicate the data on the chip, this is completely possible, but you do not know what questions you are now allowed to ask...you need to know precisely what the last "question" was and precisely what "question" you are now allowed to ask...this is where it becomes impossible...its like having millions of keys in your hands copied but only one door and only one try with one key otherwise the door locks for ever...

nobody knows the precise process for amex visa or master...this is just over simplified there are a lot of other factors involved ...but to successfully clone a chip you would really need to be visa or master :2 cents:

Credit/debit cards aside - is it possible to have a card that would change all your "discount" cards? Like instead of having 15 various discount cards having just one with all those 15 cards "installed" into one?

You would be able to do that with this card, Only Coin as well, you can also do it with Google Wallet.

Is there a list of approved cards only that can be "imported"? Or lets say I could get one of these and import some discount card from supermarket of Uganda or any other card in the world?
