Why do Indian pretend?
Why do Indian people who want (scam you) do business with you pretend to be American? :helpme
One Jimmy (Manikunis) fucker just wanted 2 hours of my life. |
That's their strategy and they assume everyone is stupid enough to fall for it...... they'll always quote you a price in USD because they think it means they're gonna earn a western rate of pay. If you know they're Indian and want to demonstrate that you're not to be messed with, ask them to quote you in INR (Indian Rupees).
If you get a quote in INR you should theoretically be able to work out how much you should be paying. Note that an average PHP coder full time (8 hour shift) in India might set you back 15,000 INR per month (approx. $250/mo). A good one might cost you as much as 30,000 INR per month ($500/mo). That's how it goes, now toddle your ass back to the dude and show your savvy. |

Hahahaha, I hear ya! You'd be surprised at the success of his sites though. I've actually had some pretty decent small change deals with him in the recent past.
He may be Indian but in his defence, when have you EVER heard of an Indian in the industry and not run the other way. Can't say i blame him all that much for trying to "pretend" to be from somewhere else. However i will say that it's always best to be upfront and let the client decide. Think of it as a blind redirect to auto-download! Funny that we're all so anti India in terms of traffic in the industry. We know it's not converting for most programs BUT there are actually companies doing well with programs attempting to monetize that part of the world. That being said, i've now wasted 3 mins posting this comment.. I should re-evaluate life for a minute and get back to these excel reports! |
When they tell me that their name is John, Paul or Eric, I ask them what their real name is. It takes a few tries before they eventually point out they're Raj, Krishna or Sanjeev, but you'll get there in the end.

Kinda, kills the trust factor instantly IMO. I even asked a guy once, did not get clear answer lol... I think its their "modi operandi" by default or perhaps even some internal guide how to do "online business"... Oh.. one guy who actually did a good job few times never pretended to be from US... |
