I have concluded that

...24/7 news "shows"...all of them...are one of the worse things that has happened in our society in my life time and do harm our society. I put "shows" in quotes because they are more about putting on a show than they are about reporting news.

It's not much of a show though, is it?

People who want entertainment, will watch entertainment shows. Newsreaders aren't funny and they sing very badly.
