At current rate of spread, doubling every 21 days, Ebola can spread very fast

Harmon 10-12-2014 09:09 AM

We need to go into Africa an incinerate that entire area.

Anybody that has been in contact with ANYBODY that has been associated with anybody that has ANYTHING to do with Ebola, should be shot, killed and incinerated. Down to dust.

On top of that, all air travel to that dirt hole they call Africa should be shut the fuck off.

The war shouldn't be in the middle east. Let those fuckers do what they have been doing for centuries.

Just not seeing the racism in that statement.

So in essence, restricting travel from West Africa is potentially bad for West Africa. Under these conditions, all that matters in shaping travel and immigration policy is OUR safety, not theirs. Non-citizens should not be allowed to enter this country from the sub-Sahara. Moreover, residents of USA who choose to travel to West Africa ought to be denied reentry (with advanced notice) until deemed not at risk. Quarantines can be established in African airports rather than in the USA. African countries are imposing bans, why shouldn't we? It's absurd to argue that doing so won't at least impede the spread of this virus. Dancing around issue after issue whilst trying to be seen as "correct" will cause our demise.

A nurse who had worn protective gear during her "extensive contact" at a Dallas hospital with an Ebola patient who died has tested positive during a preliminary blood test, officials said Sunday.

The woman had on a gown, gloves, mask and a shield during her multiple visits with Thomas Eric Duncan, but there was a breach in protocol, health officials said.
I really didn't get it. If she was fully protected, how exactly she did get the virus?

She was a health aid taking care of someone who had a highly contagious illness. It was pure stupidity that they did not have highly trained people working a case like this. Just a simple mistake can lead to being infected.

Think of the nurse in Spain. She wore all the proper gear but then she touched her face with her exposed glove. It's shit like that which allows it to spread.

When this was first on the news they showed video of two workers outside the guys apartment pressure washing the side walk where the original dude volmitted. They were just regular looking dudes with no protective clothing and just used a pressure washer to clean the place. Absolute stupidity, but that's Texas for you..

Ebola is not a contagious illness. It's not a flu or something like that.

Yes, that was some really stupid thing to do.

Agreed, that was very stupid too. I just don't understand why a nurse didn't know about very simple and obvious things.

Racist?

Yes, I am a RACIST.

HUMAN RACE.

I pride myself on the idea that it should go on, no matter what the consequence.

Amy died of cancer. She smoked 2 packs a day. It was a long battle, but in the end cancer won.

vs.

Amy died of Ebola. A guy sneezed next to her who was infected. Her insides liquefied and she bled black liquid from every orifice on her body as her skin rotted and she vomited uncontrollably.

One of them is tragic, the other is beyond your worst nightmares. THAT is why everyone fears Ebola.

Well if the good ol USA of A gets a pounding from ebola in the coming months should we just incinerate that entire area.

Anybody that has been in contact with ANYBODY that has been associated with anybody that has ANYTHING to do with Ebola, should be shot, killed and incinerated. Down to dust.

Maybe you are not racist, just stupid.

Well, what I meant by highly contagious, was via body fluids. Meaning not if they cough on you but if say that person coughs up something and the nurse/ care giver handles it. This means not just dealing with to actual person, but also dealing with their clothes, bed linens, the smocks the health care workers use while treating the patent and so on.

Meaning they could do everything right when dealing with the actual person, but then slip up like the nurse in Spain did and touch their face or something like that before they had cleaned up.

Also these things, over eating, drinking, smoking is something you choose, at the same time you don't choose ebola..
and you don't see it.. I mean if it spreads, you won't be able to know if you are travelling on the same airplane as someone who just came from and ebola infected environment. There is no way to protect yourself.. I mean if a nurse can't protect herself, then who can?
:uhoh
