Looking for best hosting solution for tube site. What do you use?
I am building a totally custom tube site for a super specific niche that hasn't been touched yet for a client. He wants hosting that is easily scalable but also cheap to start off with. Something preferably under $20/month. With the plan of being able to easily scale it as traffic/bandwidth increases. I've ran tube sites in the past and know that it doesn't take long before hosting costs hundreds/month and I told him about that. But he wants to start of small to see if it takes off before spending a ton of money on it.
Would love to hear some that you guys would recommend for this. This tube site will have membership capabilities. I def need it to have a cPanel. I've heard people tell me to go for a VPS over a dedicated server, what are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance :) |

http://www.arvixe.com when arvixe tells him to move he should move, he get business plan hosting and he can run it for a while, but dont ask them about tube site, they will push you to getting a box, wait until u see u getting over 20,000 vistors daily |
since cpanel itself is about $15/month, I'm afraid he can get just a virtual account for that price :2 cents: managed VPS with cpanel starts from $35/month.

your not going to get much for $20 a month besides a cheap un managed vps or shared hosting.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm going to tell him he would be better off starting with something around $35/month then. Any suggestions for that? Has anyone else ever used arvixe?

You could check out M3 Servers their vps starts from $30 per month and it is pretty awesome. They dont have cpanel (Well not as standard) but they do have their own custom admin panel which is pretty awesome.
Also scaling up is no problem either. :thumbsup |
I would like for it to have a cPanel since i'm buying this for a client and want to be able to 100% explain how everything works. I'm sure it's a great admin panel, but I'm trying to set this up with the least amount of learning curve as possible

just confirming, do you allow adult content? Also, is there a coupon for the 2nd month free? |
you should have a look at vultr, they have some cheap VPS starting a $7 per month on SSD drive and very easy to setup

I've always been happy with Mojohost.

I had a server over at Amerinoc for over a year. They suck ass. Don't go with them. There was downtime every fucking day and no matter how many tickets I put in they never fixed it. Switched over to Linode and I've been 100% uptime ever since.

If un-managed works I'd go with the KS-3 on Kimsufi: affordable dedicated server!

Try Webair VPS plan. They are very co-operative and will go beyond the scope of the support to get things fixed.
We have a Load Balanced setup with them and never had any major or critical issues. PM me if you need any help in getting on with Webair. I will get you in touch with the right person at Webair. |
we can set you up in a few minutes with a server $25 we can do it for 20 per month. Cloud server comes with several hosting control panel options which can be installed with just one click and then login and run your site. Basic support is also included.

VULTR for VPS or Datashack for Dedicated, both are unmanaged though so you have to know how to setup everything on your own or be willing to read a few tutorials online.
