John Grisham Questions Child Porn Jail Terms
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-29639956
I've always thought this is one of the scarier laws because to break it, it only involves directing your eyes and not a lot else. Grisham says the US has gone incarceration crazy - is this so? Since you're all a bunch of low life pornographers, this should be good discussion material. |
While I agree with him and think the US has gone incarceration crazy, he is out of his mind if he thinks someone"got online one night and started surfing around, probably had too much to drink or whatever, and pushed the wrong buttons, went too far and got into child porn."
If you happen across CP by accident the likelihood of anyone ever knowing is next to none. To end up in jail for it you have to do a hell of a lot more than just stumble upon it one night by accident. |
sick fuckers, really really fucking sick
|
I was going through some TGP's one day and got traded to a site with CP. Closed it right away and told the site I went from that they were trading with CP. Never went back to that site either.
It happens.. |
Some things need to remain taboo. Accidental discovery or exposure to child-porn does not end up in the courts.
As responsible members of the adult entertainment industry -- the prohibition of child-porn needs to be affirmed. |
I think every cp arrest I've read about had to do with sharing of photos and then finding a shit load of pics stored on the persons computer or dvd when searched.

"John Grisham apologizes for sex crimes comments"
John Grisham apologizes for sex crimes comments Anyway if the story he tells is real: guy drinks and once in a life goes in 16 years old girls site and is jailed 3 years... he would have a point. But what's the real story of this buddy? |
You could "stumble upon it" and delete anything vile instantly but if they un-erase it as they go through your computer for another incident.. then whamo, you're as guilty as the serial CP offender. It's just as crazy as how you can be put on the sex offender list for public urination.
Not sure how to change it to make that not happen other than a simple common sense approach that allows for a prosecutor to consider it in the realm of accidental exposure. Why would they ever do that though? |
What about the idea that consumption drives production? Fewer people consuming should lead to fewer people producing.

I can't blame him per se for that, it's human nature, but his mate is a cunt so 3 cheers for the 3 years he got. |
Well CP aside, doesn't the US have the highest or one of the highest incarceration rates in the world?
Edit: Yeah #2 worldwide. List of countries by incarceration rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Land of the free? lol only if you don't let'm take you alive! |

But it seems open to abuse - what's to stop someone loading someone elses PC with GBs of child porn and then deleting it. It wont be discovered by the user of the PC but if that pc then gets investigated, the owner is fucked. Governments of course will selectively use that to target people like Edward Snowden, no doubt. |

Could you imagine if someone in adult said that? The shit storm.
|
The only people who go to jail for cp are those that actually buy, (or share), and download images and store them on their computer. Grisham is an asshat.
