umm, that's common sense. there's no need to fear ebola right this moment while influenza kills thousands every year.

The only time I get the flu...is when I get a flu shot.

You may have gotten the flu but it wasn't the flu shot that caused it.

I told my pulmonologist that last year. I haven't had a shot in probably five years. He pleaded with me to get it anyway, said it was really bad last year. I got the shot, felt fine. Made me start wondering whether or not the "I only get the flu when I get the shot" deal is the placebo effect.

I've got the flu shot twice. but since I'm not around kids anymore because my daughter grew up, I don't really need one. Kids pass illness faster than anyone!

As a reasonably healthy person I refuse to get a shot for the flu or any other illness that passes for that matter. I also don't throw back antibiotics and the plethora of other medicines people ingest like candy.

Too many things get shot / swallowed / taken simply for the convenience when it wasn't needed in the first place.

If I get sick with the flu I'm sure my immune system will take care of it like it has for the last million or so years.
