Google Penguin 3.0 Pros and Cons
The newest Penguin started rolling out on Friday and there's already loads of case studies and articles being written up about its effects. But it's too soon to determine anything really as this is going to be a slow roll out.
Cons - A Googler posted on G+ that this roll out will take a few weeks. So we won't know the true impact for some time. - This is a refresh, not an update. That means even if you were able to dodge the last cleansing, you might not be so lucky this time around. Pros This is a refresh, not an update. That means all of the work you put into cleaning up your backlink profiles may finally pay off. A number of my clients have already started to see a rebound, of course it's still too soon to determine the final effects. |
fuck google.

Don't listen to 99%+ of the SEO bull and instead follow Matt Cutts advice of "Write for the user, not the engine".
If you have unique content of value, marked up semantically, with no dead internal links (they are more forgiving of dead outgoings), with natural organic backlinks by people who actually are interested in your content -- there shouldn't have EVER been nor will there ever be a Google algo' update that should worry you or have anything but a positive impact on your site. BUT, if you've abused numbered headings for "weight" instead of "structure", keyword stuffed, abused/incorrectly used META, content-cloaked, have little if anything resembling semantics, signed up for link farms, paid for backlinks, loaded up on slow loading "gee ain't it neat" scripttardery, added further slow-loading presentational images for nothing crap... Well... In that case you get what's coming to you. Honestly it's fun watching the sleazy scam artist SEO types run around like chickens with their heads cut off every time Google announces an algo' update; almost immediately followed by ad-hominem attacks against Matt Cutts. You'd think they had a personal vendetta against the guy who's job it is to slap down people for attempting to abuse the system or something. |

As for Matt Cutts... that's another thing. What he says and what is true, or what will be true in 6 months, aren't always the same thing :) |
i know google algo, i can get top position in hours, pay me to show you what i know
/adwords |
Agreed everything except keyword stuffing. U gotta do good research of what you wanna pursue for, then put it in a smart readable way in the title and body tags so it looks natural but same time has the potential to grab more keyword market share. Just going blindly thinking writing a topic or just add contents and think I have zillions of pages of contents and why de heck my site dont grow? Duh, how could google possibly understand without reading ur keywords and determine what to rank? In the end, not having to prepare only will hurt conversion and will never give u full exposure in the ocean of google.

I dont envy search guys at all. The thought of having my income shift as a result of something completely out of my control is not at all appealing :(

Watch out for that UPSTREAM hit. Solution: don't be lazy and add more TIERS :) :)
Also, lazy guest posting penalty is actually now part of the algo. WATCH OUT! |

Penguin 3.0 can be cheated. Example search for "free nude webcams"
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...ogle.com&cad=h 6 out of 10 first page results, including #1 are blackhat SEO redirects by a same guy: #1 http://taxreliefcentral.com/live-nude-webcams-free -> bongacams #5 http://smartautofinancemadison.com/a...cams-free-nude -> bongacams #6 http://smartautofinancemadison.com/1...e-nude-webcams -> bongacams #7 http://penyesmales.es/free-nude-webcams-live -> bongacams #8 http://hagplan.fr/freenude-webcams -> bongacams #9 http://burgeranddestroy.com/tz/free-...amsterdam.html -> bongacams Most of page #2 results are same bonga redirector guy too... :) |

Google really is all about the 'user experience' |
Having the penalties be immediate, but the credit for disavowing bad links only added at the end of each refresh is idiocy. Much too easy to link bomb competitors presently and much slower to overcome than it should be.
