For something cheap Virpus is ok and cheap for vps, but if you are willing to spend a little more I would recommend KnownHost or Liquid Web.

If you really want Hostgator then at least get it cheap.

I used business shared account on hostgator for years with no problems until an "upgrade" my account killed all my services. Raised a ticket and got a reply days later and of course the guy hadn't read my email. Raised another ticket and he promised to get someone to help me but I gave up after a week of my sites, databases and email services being offline.

It's great when it's working but do a search for hostgator sucks or have a look at the Wiki entry;
