  • SUNSHINE
  • The Fountain
  • Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
  • Unthinkable
  • Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
  • The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
  • City of God (Cidade de Deus)
  • Attack the Block
  • Closer

I have an other list, You like Foreign Movies?

MiamiBoyz 11-03-2014 12:42 PM

City of God (Cidade de Deus) is an amazing film. I lived in Rio for a year and the backdrop of the beach with the favelas was such a contrast...they really are fascinating. We actually visited there with some actual residents so we were safe but it was still scary as fuck! Talk about reality of life hitting you in the face! WOW

TV Shows: Peep Show. LOST

Glad to see it is on Netflix, that is definitely one of my favorite movies in the last ten years.:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Here's a few I recently watched on Netflix and enjoyed.

In a World - it is comedy about a woman (Lake Bell) who is trying to make it in the world of movie trailer voice over work. Its kind of a cool look into that world with a great cast and it is a lot of fun.

Jack Reacher - If you don't like Tom Cruise, skip it. If you don't mind him or like him check it out. He plays a guy helping to investigate a mass shooting that might not be what it seems.

Shadow of the Vampire - Cool drama about the making of Nosferatu with the idea that maybe the reason it was so scary is that the vampire was really a vampire. Cool premise, Willem Dafoe at his creepy best.

Downloaded - if you like documentaries this one is about the rise and fall of Napster. Very cool movie.

Homefront - Action flick with Jason Statham as a retired DEA agent whose past follows him to a small town.

Gladiator - well, it's Gladiator.

Glendarry GlenRoss - Cool drama about scamming real estate salesmen. Has maybe the best monologue ever filmed in it.

20 Feet From Stardom - Another documentary. This one is about backup singers in the music industry. Very cool look at a lesser known area of that industry.

TV Show Maron - Funny comedy loosely based on Marc Maron's life.

Zodiac - David Fincher's great film about the hunt for the Zodiac killer.

Indie Game - One last documentary about three different people all working to create their own video games.

Short Term 12 - Cool indie movie about a young woman working in a shelter for troubled kids while trying to deal with her own issues.

House of cards
the killing

Some great suggestions - thanks!

SylviaMaroon 11-04-2014 06:53 AM

the middle used to be good, but one of the main characters was so annoying, I had to take it off my watchlist

EonBlue 11-04-2014 08:48 AM

Sherlock. Only nine episodes but each episode is 1.5 hours so each one is almost like it's own movie.

Watch Red Dragon, it's a pre- Silence of the Lambs, with same basic characters. Very good movie.

As I said earlier
Have a look at Crackel..
It's free and the video ads are not that bad less then watching normal TV..
Great supplement to Netflix and also have some of their own shows etc..

LOL. I bet it is. :thumbsup

Try "The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover" by Peter Greenaway. Watched it last night. Perfect for a porn board rec. Trust me.

Have you tried the A-Z search? Amazing new world there Netflix does not show off the top selections. I was going to bail but my list has grown quite a bit in the last few days.

All Quentin Tarantino, Trainspotting, What's eating Gilbert Grape, 8th Mile (not bad), Kids, Gleaming the cube, The cube, The birds, The wonder years.

I really enjoyed House Of Cards and in fact, I am still trying to get through it. They have super long episodes.

One miniserie came into my mind: Unsere mütter, unsere väter. Although I watched it from TV, but it seems to be on Netflix.

I just finished the series 'Big Love' and it was fun. If polygamists can imagine political self-rescue, maybe pornographers can too.
