Maybe YOU can help me

tl;dr
I need some help getting started!

The long story

I'm fairly new to the adult industry game but wanted to get in touch for quite some time. So I started working on this and that, reading a lot and getting more confused then wise. So I decided to reach out and ask for help.

This is a rather long post (sorry for that), but I want to give you an impression where I am right now and what I'm doing so maybe we can find a way to please everyones needs?

What I do

Currently I'm working on 3 1/2 different projects, each with its own bunch of questions attached.

1.) AdStorm

AdStorm (AS) is a CMS I'm working on. The purpose of AS is to get a tube/TGP/cam/younameit site up and running quickly. It can be easily customised through themes and comes with plugins to add free hosted content from different paysites (functionality is equivalent to other scripts like AdultGalleryPress).

Additionaly, it comes with an admin interface which provides easy customization (and in the future, the ability to manage multiple sites running AS through one interface).

AS is not ready yet, but I'm working hard to bring it to live as soon as possible.

Features will include:
  • easy install script
  • content creation plugins
  • admin interface (for multiple sites)
  • different themes
  • user management
  • ... (your suggestions?)

I would highly appreciate suggestions and critique on the current state of development. I made a demo/showcase site to give you an impression.

sexythickchicks.com

Which brings me to the next point.

1.5) sexythickchicks.com

As mentioned, sexythickchicks.com is more of a demo site for AS. But I don't want to "waste" it like that. My goal is to run it as a free porn site and learn a bit about traffic generation and (of course) make a buck with it (at least enough to cover my costs and to get started in other projects (more on that later)).

This is definitely something I need help with (traffic and the right way to cash out on it).

2.) model "attraction" (?) site

I don't even know how to call this :winkwink:. I'm working on an offer for models new to the industry to help them generate content and distribute it appropriately. This is meant for amateurs who want to sell their selfgenerated content. My job would be to get their content to the right distribution sites, manage their personal "model"-sites, help them with the quality of their content, and so on.

This would be more of a management job for me with a revenue share based earning model.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of business model?

My main question is, how and (most of all) where do I market such an offer, since the target group are people who aren't in the industry (yet)?

3.) paysite...

My longtime goal is to have my own paysite. I have discovered a microniche I can pretty much identify with. The problem here is, I don't know how to start out with it since I have no cash to buy/shoot content.

Let me get back to this in a moment...

My problem

Beside being new to the game and not knowing enough :winkwink:, my greatest problem is lack of cash. I have literally no money to fund my projects (especially 3.). I can afford a domain and I have webspace, but that's pretty much it.

My plan is to get 1.5 (sexythickchicks.com) running and save some initial funding to get started with more interessting projects (did I mention I need help with that? :)).

My second big problem is, that I'm not much of a designer. I'm not even able to create some descent looking banners or ads to get things started on plugrush (not to mention sexythickchicks.com).

Why should you listening to me?

I don't come with empty hands. I would trade work for work (or work for content or work for cash, you get it). I don't need much, but maybe it is even less for you and maybe I have something to offer you are interested in?

So what is it I have to offer?

First of all, I'm a programmer at heart. I'm coding for about ten years and have a solid ground in web development (PHP). Additionally I'm pretty good at database design (MySQL).

But my coreskill is python programming. Especially bot programming. Have you ever asked yourself if a certain task could be automated? The answer is: most assuredly it could. And I know how.

I also have experience in SEO and data analysis. The last years I worked in financial data analysis (fraud detection).

What now?

We don't know each other very well, so let's change that :) Drop me a mail or hit me on ICQ. I'm in need of advice.

Thinking about it, all the above culminates in one question:

How to get the game started without any money?

So, thanks in advance great people of gfy and have a nice day :thumbsup

PS: I hope my english is not too bad.

You wanna start without any money ... Suggestion: make accounts on Twitter, Tumblr and that new Ello networks - free. Grow them a bit with some posts, following, commenting etc . Start posting aff. links in a few days when you get some followers. You might eventually get banned but will make a few bucks to pay for graphic designer/setup.
Hope that helps

Welcome to the GFY. Starting without any money is tough, the first suggestion is to read this forum as much as possible, there is a plethora of information on here.

You will be able to find more affiliate companies to work with the convert better, and pay on time. That was one of my biggest mistakes when I first starting, working with the wrong affiliate companies.

If you are passionate about your niche you should do well, but keep in mind adult webcams reviews and adult dating reviews, they convert better than tube traffic. My two cents.

Pull your finger out of your ass, download Macromedia fireworks 8 and make some graphics. It's vector based so your number brain should not have a problem.

No money? Seems everyone without money is making shitty sex blogs and selling backlinks for them while trying to generate traffic off tumblr and shit.

And if my advice helps you, sort me some backlinks in the future.

lol. harsh words, but nonetheless thanks for advice :thumbsup

But I think I go with the former and save some cash for a designer.

DonJon69 11-14-2014 10:43 AM

I think your taking on too much at the same time.

Why not start small and make some money first then advance.

Yes, make it slow. First steps, review, learn, next steps. So grow your business

The best thing that I can recommend doing, is to have good mobile versions of your sites. This is the most important part of equation, as of late 2014, and people completely omit it, still.

If you want to stay in this business, you need to work hand in hand, with programs like Bitter Strawberry, and Sex Goes Mobile. Mobile popunders from Plugrush, are very important part of the mix too.

There is more networks like this, but they are less popular. When you get to the level of high traffic xxx sites, give a try to First Mobile Cash, and VPS Mobile, and they may turn out even more profitable, for some of your sites.

I repeat myself, make responsive designs, make a site for users, not to make money. Google realizes!

I do have few Free(read priceless) advice to give:

  1. Try Only one thing at a time for at least 3 months, working every single fucking day
  2. Use your programming skills to offer services at Freelancer.com, Odesk.com and Elance.com to make some cash
  3. Once you have achieved your target with respect to Project 1, then move on to Project 2

Also, read this old thread, it has been much appreciated over the years.
