Thanks!

Markul 11-06-2014 02:10 AM

What did you do, up until now, to generate traffic for them?

How does that bring your tumblr blog traffic? Did you just expect it to magically appear? You have build followers and engage them to drive traffic via tumblr.

Got it, so it's not so automatic. Thanks!

Struggle4Bucks 11-06-2014 04:02 AM

Follow all blogs you come across in your nice... a percentage will follow you in return. Then post post post... they will reblog you and you'll get exposed to their followers... etc...

Get backlinks to your blog and use keywords in the back links that match the content of your blog.

this looks good! :thumbsup and, btw, you dont need to do anything to get traffic to your tumblr and then to your blog, all you need to know is how to build the blog, and all the rest is done automatic ... :2 cents: have luck! :thumbsup

I got a new phone number...but I never get any calls.
;-(
Perhaps, I should give out the number and get it listed in the phone book and other directories.
</sarcasm>

jimmycastor 11-06-2014 04:59 AM

you may be sandboxed, it was easier to get tumblr followers a couple of month ago

but now i think it take ages until they let you out of the sandbox , especially if you was flagged nsfw or did flag yourself nsfw

VIXEN ESCORTS 11-06-2014 05:54 AM

Thanks for the screen shots DVT, cos I was completely fucking lost on how to use Tumblr. Now can you do some screens of how you wipe your ass ?

Captain Kawaii 11-06-2014 06:05 AM

Be careful who you follow back. Blogs following you and they have no posts no set up of any kind will get you nailed fast - they are there to scam.

Be careful in your use of tags and keywords. Just don't run at this blindly. You are better off spending time working on your own domains and pushing traffic to them. I would use tumblr but do it casually and cautiously. Don't waste a lot of time on it. The tumblrs with biggest followers and most likes etc are the dumb ass ones not selling anything. :2 cents:

Don't link back to your blog, use small watermarks on pics. For adult, do not use the source option on top right. We had a big blog killed recently and I weaseled it out of tumblr peeps their bots check source and if adult site is determined. KABAM. You ded.

Again, :2 cents:

how old are your tumblr blogs? They seem to have a sandbox before your blogs start appearing in their internal search box. you should see traffic once you are out of that.

No problem. They are not digging links to hardcore porn anymore. We usually just link to general sites but still got dinged.

Just put yourself in their mindset (tumblr) when you do stuff. Or make up non-sense tumblrs you do not mind losing, like dogear.tumblr.comor 87fgv8.tumblr.com we made mistake of trying to brand some domains which they definitely are not having if it is porn.

Following or not following is as useless of a metric as Google's PR. Backlinks make your Tumblr more powerful.

Mediamix 11-06-2014 12:04 PM

How to get traffic to your Tumblr blog

1. Original content
2. Follow people and they will follow back
3. Pray to the internet gods
4. Be patient
5. Drive traffic to tumblr from Twitter and other sources
6. Don't use affiliate links or other ads on your blog
7. Use the best tags and hashtags
8. Do whatever the fuck you want. I'm not a cop.

you'll just have to wait - I think its around a month or so (not sure as I use bots so I don't log on too often). keep on posting and reposting though, make it look like its being used, I have a feeling that the amount of times you log in helps too.

I respect you.. But that is bullshit. When I start a Tumblr and use good content, I have a couple of hundred followers in a few days. Thousands in a couple of weeks. No extra work, just updates.

But traffic from Tumblr is bad when it comes to conversions.. It's good for popup earnings on the websites you link to. And I feel bad for saying this, But every advertising network should ban traffic from Tumblr because it never converts. It only generates clicks that costs advertisers money. Tumblr is great for traffic trades, not for conversions.

Which social media traffic is good anyway? In my observation all social media traffic is as useless for conversions as it gets :2 cents:
That being said there is still valuable ways of utilizing social media just not for direct conversions

ctggls 11-06-2014 09:04 PM

Tumblr banned nsfw and adult content from searches(hastags) it's very hard to get new followers except if you have follow lots of adult blogs that were created prior to porn ban.

you are entitled to your opinion but I disagree with both counts, I'm pretty sure that they have a sandbox effect going on. I definitely have seen sites of mine not show up in their own search for a good couple of weeks. and their traffic does convert (okay nothing like good old SE traffic) well enough to make using tumblr worth using. I just depends on where you send the traffic to. If it's not converting then send the traffic somewhere where you can swap it over for better traffic.

Tumblr is SFW by default, are you sure you have clicked the "show NSFW" option?

I read an article a few days ago about Tumblr having a drop in views o 4.7 billion. It would appear that app driven mobile devices are taking their toll on the traditional web. Add to that the fact that the Internet has a "fickle" personality, a site everyone runs to today is a site everyone runs from tomorrow.

But if something can be done I'm sure someone on here can help you. I just learned about the "ask a question" function and I'll see if that helps my tumblr blog any.

tghy012 11-07-2014 07:53 AM

I have about 10 Tumblr blogs with 3K all the way up to 125K followers all NSFW and i find Tumblr as a GOOD source of traffic if you do it right. Make sure your queue is always full and post 30-50 images/GIFs a day with proper tags. It's not rocket science, just think what Tumblr is - a social network. So - be social! Interact with your followers, post reblog DM. You can drop an occasional affiliate link here and there but the right way to do it as somebody up said is watermarking. A good image with your site's URL can go viral and spread not only on Tumblr but on Twitter , FB (IF it's not pure porn), Reddit etc . Doing it all manually is kinda time consuming but there are a number of good cheap bots that help. I load up the queues of all the blogs maybe once a week and login and "being social" in the bigger blogs a few times a week. Lots of horny guys on Tumblr, take advantage :)

HiddenDoorCash 11-08-2014 07:02 PM

very tough

Mr Pheer 11-08-2014 08:12 PM

Tumblr has traffic, but it's better when used as a web 2.0 site to link to your moneysite. Along with other web 2.0 sites.

Back your web 2.0 sites up with 2 tiers of backlinks, and move along to the next project.

johnny_d 11-09-2014 03:35 AM

http://www.semrush.com/info/tumblr.com?db=us

They've become not very popular with Google a while ago, but it may be changing now. There is articles about it on the Net. They are still popular, as they are getting people from other sources, I think it has been mostly other social media sites. I have not been using it for a while, so I am not sure exactly which. There is some info on http://SimilarWeb.com too.

jimmycastor 11-09-2014 07:06 AM

i had about 15000 followers on 3 different tumbls, after penguin 3.0 all my tumblrs were deleted
i had a backlink on every post, had those up for 6-8 month

i havent noticed any loss in traffic or conversions since they ve been deleted, no just the opposite, had a huge raise in traffic because im sure, google punishes to many 2.0 backlinks...
so probably i was lucky that tumblr deleted my stuff

seeandsee 11-09-2014 07:13 AM

buy traffic for them, get followers or try to serp them
