'Irish alcoholism nature' reason for job rejection for Irish teacher in South Korea
A teacher from the Republic of Ireland has been turned down for a job in South Korea due to the "alcoholism nature" of Irish people. That doesn't shock me in the least. Korea is a very racist country. Openly and socially accepted racism is displayed here daily. In the neighbourhood i live in it is a bit better as people are used to seeing me now.
It is kind of messed up, for Koreans to say the Irish have a drinking problem though. Drinking is also part of Korean culture, they have mandatory drinking nights with your company. People drink daily here. I can find a businessman passed out on the street here and people do not think anything of it. |
