Have you tried the new 'Inbox' app - It takes a bit of getting used to, but when you do you realise it will change the way you deal with email totally...

i have a very specific way how i use Gmail and Inbox looks like it's not a big help.

and most of the time i use it anyways through Outlook/Imap, just the Gmail app annoyed me - until now
