Best Story Of The Year - Comet Landing

Humans landed a spacecraft on a comet 300 Million Miles Away from Earth!

http://www.wired.com/2014/11/rosetta...nding-success/

If GFY webmasters were given this same task, they would immediately complain that:

A) There used to be a lot more comets than there are now

B) All the good comets are already taken

C) The Universe is 'shaving' all the comets with intense gravity

D) It's a lot of work to actually do this, so let's just talk about why we can't instead.

E) All of the above

Congrats to everyone at ESA for actually DOING something amazing. :pimp

What about KK she had her ass picture taken. That is top news

adultchatpay 11-13-2014 05:28 PM

There is much math and science involved. Like how to time that moving comet for a nice landing. Very awesome!

Best-In-BC 11-13-2014 05:40 PM

That's Gangster!
lol

NaughtyRob 11-13-2014 06:20 PM

Indeed there is.

Would like to hear a creationist tell us how this fits in with a 6000 year old earth where science is just a bunch of unproven theories and their theory is just as valid etc.

:2 cents:

How did they find that comet in deep space, it's like looking for nothing in something, really we are great , too bad wars and shit stop our rize in space

I'm no longer eating robots due to the inhumane mistreatment

Relentless 11-14-2014 08:29 AM

The robot isn't getting enough sunlight to recharge so it's battery may die soon. Unlike GFY, scientists are not whining or complaining about the comet. They are working hard to solve the problem and to launch other space craft that will benefit from the lessons learned from this one.

and in the end if someone from GFY did this they would still have landed their solar powered toy in the shade..

It took 3 tries to land in the shade. Hopefully they get a 4th try and can move it back toward sunlight.

To be fair, those are some of the brightest minds in the world working together to make this happen and solve whatever problems they must have. The best of the best. Most of the people in the porn industry don't even have a college education, are unable to work with others, do not have any real goals, and generally can not think outside of the box. The best thing that ever happened to porn in regards to working together, was Mansef being bankrolled into Manwin and becoming the largest pirate operation in the world. Everything else has just been a bunch of cowboys trying to get theirs at any cost.

We can't even deliver high speed broadband globally. Hell, there are still 2 MILLION people paying 20.86 per month for AOL dialup connections.

Why Are 2 Million People Still Signed up For AOL's Dial-Up Internet? - On The Media

You sell the porn industry short. Porn, especially in the earlier days, drove a lot of technical innovation like billing & video technologies... the crazy demand for porn definitely had a hand in making companies like Cisco make faster and faster routers & switches... We count. A little, but we count.

TeenCat 11-14-2014 10:44 PM

only people can cure cancer but we sure need to believe! :thumbsup
