Would Apple fix Android ?

Do you think it would fix all issues with Android phones if they where being build by Apple ? Obviously you should disregard the design flaws.
Or do you think it would be enough if Apple created the next version of Android ?

candyflip 11-13-2014 04:29 PM

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they've built their own version of Android in house. Plenty of others have.

Coup 11-13-2014 04:30 PM

Apple? More like CRAPPLE!

amirite guys?

That's what I was wondering. I didn't know there was any real big issues to "fix".

My Galaxy 5 seems to run just fine on Android.

Rochard 11-13-2014 05:23 PM

What flaws does Android have? My household uses both Android and iPhone. Never had a problem with Android, tons of problems with iPhones.

Perhaps Google/Android should be fixing the IOS?

IOS has already been implementing Android features with every new release :2 cents:

Its just smaller flaws, like being slow and unresponsive for a 1-2 seconds every now and then.

It's not like it makes it impossible to use the phone, its just a crappy experience compared to example IOS

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure its great.

BUT if you are excited that your email got a new interface and that you will be updated in 3 months then the phone doesn't have much going for it right now does it ?

Sounds like you enjoy your phone because of what it could be and not for what it is :winkwink:

I don't hear a lot of IOS users saying the same thing... Just saying.. :2 cents:

sounds like you need to get away from the budget phones, there is no lag, crashing or anything else with my Motorola turbo

iOS and Android have a lot of room for improvement.

WebOS was looking good a few years ago, but they couldn't get the market behind it. Kind of a Windows-iOS hybrid. No idea what it looks like today.

There is an Ubuntu phone that looks interesting.

edgeprod 11-13-2014 10:31 PM

I'd be happy if my Samsung Galaxy 5 crashed less. I'm constantly having to kill off apps, restart apps, restart the phone, etc. The e-mail app constantly brings in old mails after they're deleted, Chrome basically decides whether or not it'll "allow" me to use the address bar without a restart, and various services just hang and require a restart.

That's my only major complaint, aside from the shitty camera.

I don't use my iPhone 6+ much, I use the Galaxy MUCH more.

Maybe. I seem to keep getting crappy Droids. Had same issues, so I traded the Turbo for a Galaxy 5, had same issues with the Galaxy 4, and the Thunderbolt. I just suck at picking Droids, I guess. I don't like the look and feel of the iPhone, but I love how it works and is so stable ... I just don't like limiting myself to the Apple App Store ... so Droid for me most of the time. :thumbsup

I don't have any of those problems. And the camera is awesome in my opinion.

1000 times better than the camera on my old Droid Maxx phone that I replaced with the Galaxy 5.

Matter of fact the camera on it blows away my daughters Iphone 5 camera.

I'm thinking maybe you got a lemon or something?

Maybe! Lots of lemons, it looks like. :Oh crap I have literally not had a Droid that worked correctly, ever, but I still prefer them.

The camera takes clear pics for you? It only does that for me in the BEST lighting. My iPhone takes stunning snaps in most conditions .. it probably has a lot more do to with the post-processing than the lens/camera.

I am on Android phone number 6 now - including Samsung S2, S3 and S4 and I never had any of those problems

there are crappy mobile sites that seem to crash Chrome occasionally, but that's it.

How long have you used an Android product for and what product was it?
If by problems you mean:

Then I'm sure you know that the crash rate and issues with lag are higher in IOS than in Android based devices... any number of google searchs for such reports will show you that.

Study from March 2014
Android 4.x is more than twice as stable as iOS 7.1

You can find more if you want...

First you start this thread by posting a question as to if Apple would fix Android.
When someone points out that many features apprear first on Android you question if its a BETA product for IOS...

So are you saying that Android currently fixes IOS as Android is a BETA product for IOS.
This would mean you are saying IOS adds features based on them being 1 step behind...

Would this not make you excited for the coming changes to Android so that you can have them added to next years iphone or IOS updates...

It must be. I can't imagine that anyone would suffer through some of the things I suffer through on Android, LOL ... I think I literally rolled snake eyes several consecutive times, and got shitty phones. What are the odds? Well, whatever they were, it happened. :1orglaugh

WDF 11-14-2014 12:59 PM

Sure Apple would fix Android........

They would give it a metal (tin foil) body, provide free OS upgrades that kill the device, all while raising the price to triple what it once was.

Almost forgot, they would make them all Pink in honor of their current CEO.

look, what you're discussing here is a moot point. It doesn't make sense.
It's like making a thread saying:

- Would burger king fix mcdonalds tasteless burgers?
- Would BMW fix Caddilacs lack in quality?

questioning this absolutely doesnt make any sense.. it are seperate companies, period.

I'm the other way around, I recently got a 6 plus after several years of Android phones. I feel it's much more functional and usable for a small pocket device. I was always installing launchers and calendars on Android trying to get a less bloated/cluttered view of my phone.

On the other hand I recently bought and returned the next day an Ipad, the form factor was wrong for video and the display couldn't compare to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 I already had.

I think it's pretty cool that we have a few great choices now for phones. A year ago it you had to buy an Android device if you wanted a decent display.

MassMarketing 11-14-2014 02:00 PM

I was on android for 7+ years and only switched to an iphone because I was having issues with the droid that I thought was the OS. Later i figured out it was a hardware issue. Anyways, after getting used to the iphone I liked it for about a year until I started having lags, random delays, apps running that aren't shown in the task manager, etc. And I absolutely hate apple mail. When the right droid phone comes out, I'll most likely be making the switch back.

Wizzo 11-14-2014 02:10 PM

I have a S5 and love it and with no issues... Please don't let Apple touch it... Not a fan of Apple handheld devices, just my preference.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit. I know it's old, but it was fucking cheap and works fine for what I need. It came out in 2011. Recently, a friend of mine posting on his facebook about how awesome his new Apple phone was. He singled out the "word suggestion feature," and about how he couldn't imagine how he typed anything on his phone without it before. I quickly pointed out that my android phone has been doing that for years. A little while later, his post was deleted. :)

It's actually pretty amusing if you connect all of the dots between features appearing on Android, then "migrating" to iOS. Apple has always been famous for "perfecting" the ideas of others, but that has become less and less credible based on recent performance of "fucking up further" the ideas of others.

The ONLY difference here is, Apple is not crammed packed full of carrier apps like android and everything else is and lets face it, carriers don't have streamlining of apps as any priority.

Remove all the shit, S3/4/5 Note II/II/IV are flawless perfect zero-lag zero-issue phones.

Also suggest turning off all synch except for gmail synch.

So buy a phone, remove everything on it and then disable sync which is one if the main functions in a smart phone? And THEN I'll have a nice phone? But that problem doesn't exist on the iPhone?
Sorry but it sounds like android needs to get their shit together.. you can't possibly say they don't know can you?

dyna mo 11-15-2014 09:13 AM

you can try and talk shit about android till you are blue in the fucking face.

but the simple fact is if it were inferior, sales #s would support your silly claims, they, however, do not.
