Chromebook or MacBook: what is worth buying?
Guys I need your help! Do you think a Chromebook is worth buying right now or it's better to wait for some time to scratch up more money for a MacBook? Had anybody use a Chromebook before? My purposes: working with documents offline and online, internet surfing, watching videos and creating presentations. Need help as I feel myself like a donkey starving in a choice between two equal sheaves of hay. :helpme

Go for a MacBook if you want to run anything other than Google Apps.
|
Hmmm the problem is that Google Apps suit me well but I use Skype and some Adobe products and as I know there are no worthy substitutions among Chrome OS services and apps.
|
I would rather go with Macbook. I'm in love with Apple products! Love their design - sleek and minimalistic :)

I have a Chromebook... its just a super, super basic 'pooter.

This is really comparing apples to oranges.
One is a "real" computer and the other is a "toy". Get the MacBook |

i dont think you can compare that
but there is a Skype app and Photoshop Touch or something like that but i dont consider the Chromebook a real computer |
Chromebook is a gimmick.. get the fruit :thumbsup

If all you're doing with it is what you posted, I wouldn't bother wasting the money on a Macbook. We have both here at the house and the Chromebook is perfect for what you want to do.

The 2 are not really comparable...
Chromebook: - $200 - Limited storage and basically everything is in the cloud.. Once your 3 years are up you will need to start paying for the cloud storage... - Limited Apps - 12-inch : 32GB - Specifications - 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor - Intel® HD Graphics 4000 (Integrated) - 4GB memory - 32GB PCIe-based flash storage Mac Book (assuming Air) - $1000 - 11-inch : 128GB - Specifications - 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor - Intel HD Graphics 5000 - 4GB memory - 128GB PCIe-based flash storage OR you could get a Sony VAIO 15.5 touch screen - $600-700 15.5 inch Intel Core i7-3537U NVIDIA GeForce GT 735M (Dedicated 2GB) 1TB HDD 8GB RAM Windows 8 For say $250 you can swap in an SSD and increase the ram to 16GB |

Even I would take macbook over chromebook. That says a lot, lol.
Chrome book is basically a tablet while macbook is a computer. How can you compare that :) One is full computer and one is a toy. That being said - for some tasks chromebook is enough. |
