GFY made me buy it

First two things that come to mind:

Logitech Illuminated Keyboard:

ATH-M50x (Professional Monitor) Headphones:
http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/922/5580949755.jpg

Love them both :thumbsup

What are some things that you bought because of the GFY crowd? :)

CDSmith 11-18-2014 11:46 AM

I never look at the keys whilst typing so I can't see myself buying the lit up keyboard. Might make for a good gift though.

Can't think of much that I bought specifically due to GFY'ers. Maybe a pc game or two. The odd book perhaps.

Where did you get the headphones? Link?

loreen 11-18-2014 11:49 AM

I never look at the keys either, but it's a very nice keyboard even if I don't really find those lights helpful :)

The headphones are from Thomann - (European site though) :)

SilentKnight 11-18-2014 12:25 PM

A GFY necessity:

waiting on someone to say how much better the mac keyboard and earbuds are...

edgeprod 11-18-2014 12:30 PM

Facebook stock. I was in a competition for stock returns in a GFY thread, and needed a showcase pick. I think it has gone to almost $40,000 from a $10,000 investment.

Rochard 11-18-2014 12:49 PM

I don't think I ever bought anything because of GFY.... But with that said I have two Alienware laptops who both have back lighted keyboards and they are kind of neat. Usually I run everything in red, but every now and then when I am feeling particular randy I try green or blue. (Not kidding really.)

pornguy 11-18-2014 01:05 PM

Now you can type on that fucker in the dark.

candyflip 11-18-2014 01:08 PM

Someone here was involved in getting this company up and running. I love the unit, but they did a shitty job sourcing their product.

I just received my FOURTH unit in 16 months as they keep failing about 4-6 months in. At least they cover it and send me a new one. But you'd think they'd figure there shit out and save themselves some money.

I have an illuminated Razer mechanical keyboard. It lights up in green and goes clickity-clickity while I type.

My headphones are noise-cancelling Bose QC15. I love them.

This post is extra confusing because randy means horny and red light is associated with sex. What do you do for a laptop bag? Medium sized shopping bag from target?

I never work with my computer (desktop) in the dark. And in the super rare occasions if I do (for a few seconds etc) there is enough light coming from the display.

So that would be useless for me. And why would people do that? Working with computer in the dark is bad for your eyes, so what is the point? Saving room lighting energy? :1orglaugh

It is supposed to be fancy, not practical. :)

I had keybord like that a month back or so, until I gave it some beer. I guess it didn't handle alcohol that well. Though I never used the lights.

PaperstreetWinston 11-18-2014 06:26 PM

Nice purchase! Congratz!

there is only one definite professional monitor headphones - Sony MDR-7506 :winkwink:

Quote:

Listen to the MDR-7506 and you'll know why it's remained in the Sony lineup for 22 years. Nothing about the sound is out-of-place: the bass-midrange-treble balance is accurate, and every music genre sounds great. It's no wonder so many professionals have relied on the MDR-7506 to record and mix music, radio, movies, and TV shows. Audiophiles on a tight budget will find a lot to love about this headphone.

I have yet to see a studio that does not have them

but they don't sound as fancy as those beats thingies or whatever... but thats exactly the point. :)

I know.. it came to these two at the end.
But as I need them for music listening only, I concluded the Sony ones were too.. "pick every sound"y. The ATH ones give a nice round / complete sound, I enjoy them a lot :)

CaptainHowdy 11-19-2014 05:27 AM

My second one just died and I used it maybe 30 times. This time it seems the power switch is flaking and the charging no longer works = double fail!

Looks cool, terrible design.

Expensive piece of shit.

...and they cancelled the affiliate program (with sales) too.

I think I'm developing a headphones addiction though :helpme It's such a good feeling having the music right into your ears that sometimes I get irritable not having them around :1orglaugh

I probably use mine too much. :1orglaugh

It seems that the power supplies crap out. I've had one not even last 3 months. And each model seems to be slightly different from the last, so it does seem that they're trying to make improvements.

Call them. Send it back and they will send you a new one. They've been good to me. The warranty resets when they send you a replacement.

Working in the dark being worse for your eyesight is a myth.

People still buy stuff? Why when it's laying all around you. If it isn't tied down, it's mine! If it is tied down, I'll cut the rope and make it mine!

Nobody gives a shit about stealing content so other items are OK too.

My 2001 pathfinder died a while ago. I finally replaced it with that 2014 pathfinder resurrection.

Another story about a dead Pathfinder and a resurrection. We have something in common.
