Dad forces 11-year-old daughter to swallow 104 cocaine capsules

Cops in Colombia are on the hunt for a man who turned his 11-year-old daughter into a drug mule ? nearly killing her after one of the 104 cocaine capsules he forced her to swallow exploded in her stomach.
Stuffed with illegal drugs, the unnamed girl was merely hours away from hopping on a flight to Madrid with her father when he rushed her to a hospital in Santiago de Cali, the Daily Mail reports.
Once the burst capsule was discovered, doctors performed emergency surgery during which they pulled almost 1.2 pounds of cocaine from the young girl?s stomach.
By the time the lifesaving procedure was over, the father and another relative were nowhere to be found.
Local authorities are now searching for the man.
?Everything is pointing to the fact this youngster was going to be used in a twisted way by adults as a drugs mule to transport drugs from Colombia to another country,? said Cali police chief Hoover Penilla.
?They had flights reserved to travel from Cali to Bogota and then an onward connection, Bogota to Madrid with a final destination of Gran Canaria.?
Despite telling police that she and her husband were estranged, detectives also suspected that the girl?s mother knew all about the trafficking, according to the Daily Mail.
A passport with the mom?s name and a plane ticket to Spain ? the same place the girl?s dad planned to take her ? were found when cops searched her home.
Once she is released from the hospital, the youngster will be taken into temporary care by the Colombian Family Welfare Institute.
?A case like this is horrific because it puts the life of an 11-year-old girl at risk,? a spokesman for the institute said. ?We are going to take steps to offer her protection and remove her from her harmful family environment
