So. How long before the phrase " Black Friday " is considered Racist?

Was watching some idiot tube at a hotel the other day and every other commercial was about Black Friday.

How long until stores start apologizing for the use of the phrase and its considered Racist.

We have already seen that the use of " Black hole " is considered racist in some council meetings.

Because Wall Street named the shopping spree day. Operating profits are referred to as being in the black, sustaining operating losses is running in the red. It's not about Black people or Communists ...

Wall Street's Lack Of Diversity Is Putting Us At Risk Of Another Crisis

Looks like it might end up being.

Yes, it is racist. You shouldn't discriminate colors, or weekdays. Do you have something against mondays?

Barry-xlovecam 11-21-2014 09:23 AM

I fail to see why racial inequality in the financial industry has anything to do with the term "Black Friday".

Black Friday is about retailers making sales on the (or what was) kick off day of the holiday shopping season.

So, is the term "black ice" racist too?

If the idea of "Black Friday" was intended to be racist -- please explain why.
Or, why the description "black ice" is a racist slur.

It'll be called racist when Al Sharpton doesn't get his $199 iPad

Rochard 11-21-2014 11:34 AM

Seems to me it's no longer "black Friday" but instead "black week" because it's a week long thing...

Sorry, I do all of my shopping online. Have for some time now.

?I firmly believe the term ?Black Friday? is racist and degrading to every person of color in this country and around the world,? said Sharpton during a morning press conference outside his office in downtown Manhattan. ?Brothers and sisters, please unite with me and support our cause to bring down this derogatory term!?

For the same reason that " Black Hole " was racist in the video of the council meeting.

Anyone got that and can post it??

I never said it was intended to be racist no one did as I know of. Neither did the term Black hole start out that way but it seems a lot of people are thinking that those terms and many more are racist.

Crayola has already renamed my kids' black crayons to "Outer Space."

CDSmith 11-21-2014 02:01 PM

Ban the word 'black' already. Delete it from the English language.

Every usage of it these days is deemed racist, why use it at all.

Noir Friday it is then.
