So I'm doing some research on a city for a business I have

And google prompts the Humane Society for that city. I lost my dog of 17 years about a year ago and have been ignoring the subject of getting another. Then I saw this little guy. He's a couple of hours away but tomorrow morning I'm headed out.

Hope he's healthy and still there .....

Well they "fostered" him out to a rescue group whatever that means and no one has any more info than that until next Tuesday. Oh well.

Adopting a pound animal is the way to go.

I have been so lucky with adoptions so far. All wonderful animals.

I am very excited for you. Two years ago I lost my best friend, Taffy. I didn't do well about the loss. About a year later my wife decided she wanted to adopt a pound dog. I wasn't sure I was ready for another dog. Boy was I wrong. She makes me very, very happy. I love her. <-- My wife of course. :)

From your posts, I think you are a dog guy. Like I said, I am excited for you.

Fostering is just a temp placement - so it sounds like he's still available for adoption. :thumbsup

cute dog...

Contact the rescue group. In those cases, the rescue group probably works just like the shelter you initially contacted - they house and feed the dogs and try to find homes for them. I have a friend who used to run a rescue group, and they mostly kept dogs from shelters that were too full.

:(

get him! they'll give you the name/location of the rescue group - he looks like he would so appreciate a loving home.

TrashyGirl 12-01-2014 01:48 AM

Don't give up on finding him and adopting him. He's beautiful.

Well at least you waited. It's a total insult to the animal a person has cared for for over such a long time if they get a new one the day after the other one cops it. :2 cents:

That's normal, my dog was fostered until I picked him up. Shelters don't have the space plus they get to stay in a home rather than in a cage somewhere.

Hope all goes well with the dog and we can see some pics of you and him soon ;)
