How Does This Happen?..

I was having a quiet night watching some Youtube PHP tutorials on the TV - I saw an ad for some software and thought it looked interesting - I went to the computer had a look and changed my mind - Then I got distracted again...

Long story short, it's 7 HOURS later, my laptop is now running Chrome OS (WTF?) and I know no more about PHP than when I started:mad:.....

That's actually pretty hilarious. I'd suggest you DON'T tackle programming if you're that easily distracted, though.

I didn't think you could install Chrome OS on just any computer. I had Cr OS Linux (kind of mimics Chrome OS) installed through live USB and liked it, but I didn't stick with it.

Is this what you did?....
Quick Start Guide - The Chromium Projects
Install Ubuntu first and then Chrome OS? Might have to give this a try.

stop watching videos , start coding.
its much more fun and you will learn as you face issues, stackoverflow is your friend..

I set it up as a VM - First install Chromium OS and then break out of it into the shell - Then download Chrome OS via the shell and install it over Chromium...

This is a start and should help - Practical Chrome: Playing with Chrome OS in VM - Make sure you note the bit about the network - I could have saved hours if I had just seen that one line - lol.....

Once you have read that page go here - Tips for running Chrome OS (not Chromium OS) in VMWare Workstation/Player (May 2014) - It updates what he has said in the previous article...

I hate to break it to you. If you are spending your Saturday night watching PHP tutorials then installing a new OS and learning programming...you are probably a nerd.

This coming from the guy who has spent part of his Saturday night reading about you watching PHP tutorials, installing an OS and programming then commenting on it. :)
