Nov 19, 2014- Canada backtracks on climate commitments
in light of the stunning announcement by the USA to cut greenhouse gases 90% by 2050::::
if they are not going to help us fix the problem, they should all by volts instead and make it worse. |
And you wondered why I said the agreement was useless in the first place.

and yes, i wonder even more now because a canada has very little to do with an agreement between USA and china. womp woooomp. :1orglaugh |
they want nothing to do with it mainly because of the oilsands. its big money for canada and they know they its bad for the environment.

yes! it's also because they are an elitist country run by conservatives. |

The simple fact is a UN agreement is meaningless unless our govt is willing to back it at a state by state level. |

so no, you missed the point entirely. the thread topic is about canada not giving a shit about pollution. it's in the title. |
harper's base is the west/alberta/oil and fracking country. plus his popularity is plummeting.
it has nothing to do with "canada." |

Among G8 economies, Canada has the worst greenhouse gas record, and Environment Canada attributes Canada’s poor showing to large increases in oil and gas production.
Canada's Dramatic Rise in Greenhouse Gas Emissions |
There is a big problem of coordination with this type of policies. How would you persuade 7 billion people to stop polluting? If that kind of thing is easily accomplished, I wonder why there wasn't some kind of agreement to stop all the wars in world. Wars are more lethal than pollution.

Canada accounts for 1.5% of greenhouse gases worldwide
China 25% Yet the oil sands is supposedly the worst thing on earth |
