NYPD Officer Who Fatally Choked Eric Garner Wasn't Indicted, Man Who Filmed the Incident Was

On the same day one grand jury decided not to indict officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner, an unarmed black man who was killed after being put in a chokehold last July, a different jury did indict 22-year-old Ramsey Orta, the man who captured Garner's death on camera.
Orta was charged with weapon possession after being arrested on Aug. 2, less than one month after taping Garner's confrontation with police. As seen in Orta's video, several NYPD officers confront Garner on the street for allegedly selling loose cigarettes. They're then seen bringing Garner to the ground, as Pantaleo places Garner in a chokehold.

How many arrests did Garner have? 30 or so? SO his criminal friend got indicted for crimes he committed? Crazy shit.

Just a pack of angels out there making the world a better place and doing their part to improve the black neighborhoods where they lived.

yeah getting arrested means you should be dead. non violent arrest. hope your next speeding ticket is an adventure!

He added later: ?I had nothing to do with this. I would be stupid to walk around with a gun after me being in the spotlight.?
Sounds legit.

Orta is also accused of misdemeanor weapon possession and has two cases currently pending ? one for accused robbery and the other for allegedly punching a man collecting bottles outside of his home.
There are plenty of legit people that have been wrongfully accused of crimes. Stop sticking up for the scumbags. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Non violent arrest means the suspect is not resisting ... What don't you get ?

He takes for granted being black means you will be arrested so his only bitch is how blacks are treated AFTER being arrested.

NOT getting arrested is a moot point to him. :Oh crap

Sounds like an awfully slow climb to the top of financial success.

If only asthma and resisting arrest hadn't gotten in the way of his meteoric rise.

You should date a cop. The last three times I've gotten pulled over I mentioned that I do and was sent on my way. She works main intake at our jail downtown, they all know her.

The last time was 2am in a part of town white people don't usually go. :1orglaugh

Cigarettes in NYC are generally around $12 or $12.50 per pack. I read somewhere that most of the 'illegal' cigarettes come from Virginia or North Carolina where you can get a pack for $5-6. They're even cheaper if you get them at an Indian reservation and there are a few near NYC.

Anyway, let's just assume that he was buying cartons of Newport 120's in bulk from VA at $5 per pack and selling them individually for $1 each which nets $20 per pack. That's a pretty good margin which could lead to a decent income if he was pushing weight. Relatively speaking, of course, because he probably didn't have many other options.

The last speeding ticket i got was in I10 outside of Tallahassee about 6 months ago. It was a black officer in an unmarked Charger with tinted windows which I didn't even notice was a police car. He pulled me over after following me for quite a ways with me doing about 85-90mph. He was super polite. I was super polite. I handed him my license/insurance before he asked for it. I apologized and admitted that I knew I was speeding before he said anything. I always said "yes sir" and "no sir"... he was really nice, gave me a ticket, told me slow it down, be safe and have a great day and I told him that I hoped he had a great day and told him to be safe.

You see how normal people do it and don't go to jail for dumb shit?

It's really not hard for anyone with an IQ bigger than their shoe size to figure out.

In fact for most people that aren't ghetto raised, disrespectful hoodlums, with gold grills, tear drop tattoos, pants around their knees, with a single mother and no father and a long rap sheet, who feel they are entitled to be able to argue and fight and resist, not being an asshole to a cop is not only easy, it's common sense and it ends well every single time.

More black people should try it instead of arguing, fighting, resisting and then ultimately getting hurt.

Tom_PM 12-04-2014 09:30 PM

How about the black gentleman, oops I mean worthless thug, who was commanded to show his license by a South Carolina trooper and when he tried to comply he was shot at 4 times and struck once in the hip? Bad parenting? Long criminal record? Hoodlum from the ghetto? After he was shot he said "What did I do, sir?" and "why did you shoot me?". More backtalk from a ghetto thug.

No matter how big a tunnel visioned dipshit you are, you can watch the dashcam video to understand what happened in that case. The guy turned around quickly and reached into his truck and then spun back around just quickly and the cop fired. It wasn't like the cop was driving around shooting random people to produce cool youtube videos. The guy didn't have a gun in his hand but cops have to deal with people grabbing guns and shooting at them all the time. Cops are murdered all the time. He made a judgement call based on what was a perceived threat and was wrong.

Shit happens. Another case where someone was acting stupid in front of a cop and it caused a problem. If you get pulled over, don't get out, don't make an attempt to quickly dive back into the cab to grab something and then quickly jump back out in a manner which can easily be confused as being an armed threat.

Had the guy pulled a gun up and shot the cop in the face which could have just as easily happened, you wouldn't know or care about it.

The guy fully recovered... the cop was fired.

Yes I am aware of the video, which is why I mentioned the story to you. Naturally your interpretation is that he "turned around quickly and reached into his truck and then spun back around quickly" when what he did was attempt to comply fully with the officers request. Even though the cop was fired and waiting on trial, you still justify his actions and blame the black guy. Rock n roll hoochie koo.

Yeah.. he was clearly attempting to comply with the officer. He was doing it in the most asinine way possible and anyone watching the video can see that what i said was 100% correct and that he could have very easily been mistaken for grabbing a weapon as well.

It has nothing to do with black or white.. it has to do with the manner in which he responded to the officers commands. You think the officer was trying to execute someone and record himself with his own dash cam and do it in front of witnesses?

Additionally, i am not "justifying" anything. I am saying they both fucked up. You seem to be saying "the poor black guy is just minding his own business and the first white cop to spot him, tries to execute him for absolutely no reason at all because thats exactly what they do". It's pretty fucking obvious that both parties are wrong. It's all on video.

Jones, 35, survived the shooting. But Groubert, who has since been fired for the incident, has been charged with aggravated assault and battery, a felony that could get him up to 20 years in prison if convicted, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said Wednesday.

I read an article (can't find link right now) where his family claimed he was supporting them from his street cigarette sales. His endeavor was either lucrative or the other theory in the article was a potential civil suit would include loss of income, etc.
