Considering my first tattoo - which body part?

I am considering first and only tattoo for myself.

So far I like these body places the best:

Either inner or outer forearm.

I am pretty determined only on these 2 particular places, which one should I go for? I know there are few tattoo enthusiasts here :)

Like I said - those 2 places of the forearm are a lock. Just can not decide which one.

freecartoonporn 12-04-2014 08:31 PM

just get on both sides and get over it.

good luck.

Funny, after creating this thread I started considering ankle instead of fore arm :)

Friends, please read the thread, I already posted twice that only those 2 forearm places are in consideration. :2 cents:

That hurts like crazy hell - I have one on my ankle, inner wrist and left back shoulder.

That inner arm spot you are showing would be by far the less painful.

Keep in mind, not sure if anyone else has said this or not - or told you - but the closer to the bone and the less fatty, the more painful it is going to be.

I have one on my inner wrist, it's bigger than I had planned, but went from my wrist up my arm a bit and they got down nearer to my wrist and that bone and it hurt like a bitch - the further up my arm it went, the less painful.

If this is your first one - I'd do the inner arm there - it will be far far far less painful and it's a pretty cool place. You can still hide it if you choose. ;)

Good question :thumbsup:1orglaugh

There is only ONE idea that I want to have as a tattoo. And even with that idea I am still not sure. Except for that idea I would not consider the tattoo ever :)
And as for apple it would be never ever ever ever ever ever........ever ever. LOL

No if someone offered me money, that would be another thought. And it would depend on how big of the tattoo and where.
If it is small and hidden - 100K would suffice. If it is small and sometimes (in summer but not in winter for example) visible - 500K. If it is big and sometimes visible even more, if it is big and always visible even more :1orglaugh

Mickey_ 12-05-2014 07:10 AM

Jokes aside, don't get one. Chances are the design you like now and end up choosing is going to suck 20 years from now and you won't be happy. Less is more.

If you want to create something unique with more benefits than a tattoo, why not focus on building the canvas into a work of art and an object of desire instead of trying to paint on it? Hit the gym. :pimp

one of the most common mistakes in getting tattoos is getting a tattoo that is to small.. make the jump and get sleeved... you will NEVER regret the decision. go with a simple/timeless Japanese'ish design... here is how it works... meet with a few artist and look at their work, ask people you see that have work you like etc... go over the design concept and put a down payment... say about $500-$600.. fist session will be the 'outline' then you go for color session every few weeks (as the work heals) working on your tab and paying ahead etc.. I'm guessing $2000-$2500 for a sleeve... you can get cheaper but do you really want a cheap tattoo?

Nice trolling :1orglaugh
Sleeves are not my style, they are even disgusting to me.
Small tattoo is classy, sleeve is trashy :)
No disrespect to anyone, it is just my subjective view. To each their own.

Not really as it is not just a design, but something that I will like for all my life (no it is not female or person, or sports team). So no worries about it "getting out of the fashion". I do not want to give it up, but close comparison would be - stylized heraldic symbol of your home country or town. It is not exactly that, but similar in terms of it never going out of "fashion".

Design is not the worry at all. My only worry if I still would like to have a tattoo when years go by.

I'm sure people who got tattooed with the names or flags of the former Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and Bombay also thought they were never going out of style.

Neck & or Hands. That is assuming you are to big a pussy to do it on your face like a real man, lol. JK

For me (and yes, I have a couple good size pieces) Anything Id ever get would be covered by T-shirt and shorts. Mine are for me and the people I choose to explain their meaning too. But thats just me

don't get your first tattoo in a place where it can been seen in the summer months - i.e. it's hidden even if you are wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
Many people regret their first tattoo and if that happens to you then you don't want to have to hide it all the time. if you get your tat and you are still happy with it after a year or so then go ahead and get your second anywhere you like - remembering that there are still some companies that will not employ people with visible tattoos.

EDIT - forgot to say - never get a cartoon, logo or a picture done, always have a pattern or something like that, cartoons and images go out of style and are much easier to regret but patterns don't.

liveevilm 12-06-2014 02:39 AM

Sleeves are trashy? No one told me. I worked in shops for many years as a body piercer...my advice...don't get anything that shows past a short sleeve shirt or shorts. But what do I know...I'm trashy.

So you have a sleeve that shows past thisrts, yet you advocate not getting anything that shows pas tshirt? :)

In that case I would not need a tattoo. What is the point if it shows only when you are naked? I mean tats are for "style" and not some secret mark.

These are not important, I am showing off the PLACES of the hand and not those tats themselves.
