paypal holding money on ebay sales

How much crap do you have to sell on ebay before paypal stops putting a 21 day hold on your money? I've got almost 300 feedback all positive, but have only sold a handful of items. All the rest has been from me purchasing things.

This 21 day hold is annoying as fuck. Seems like they release the funds a little earlier once you get positive feedback but that still means you have to wait over a week for the item to arrive at the destination.

Just seems like another way for them to scam some more interest off your money.

candyflip 12-06-2014 03:40 PM

I had almost 1000 positive feedback and they started holding my money after sales.

I don't bother with eBay anymore and I was selling $10k plus a month in shit.

MrBottomTooth 12-06-2014 03:47 PM

Ya i sold a few things when i first opened my account years ago and never had any issues. I just started selling again recently and see this bullshit. It's definitely geared more for buyers these days apparently.

Did you move to just advertising a website then? I use ebay exclusively.

The fees kill the margins.

To sell shit you have to buy shit, with this said what is the shit you've been selling?

RubyGoodnight 12-06-2014 07:17 PM

The hold is dropped when you've had an account for 90 days, had 25 sales, and made $200. If you haven't had a sale in 90 days, that 90 day clock starts over again. I'm going through this myself in a new account.

Why post this question here? Why not just ask Paypal?

Paypal is fantastic. If you ever have any questions or problems you can contact them 24/7. And if they have any kind of issue or hold or whatever with your account, all you have to do is politely ask them what you need to do to get your account back to normal, and they will go out of their way to help you.

I've been working with them for over 12 years now and they have always been very helpful. Fantastic service.

Because i wanted to hear the experiences of other sellers to see what the norm is across the board rather than waiting for a canned company response.

Gotta be more than that. I have an account from 1998 with less than 25 sales. I put something on it maybe once or twice a year and the funds show up right away. Usually $300+ electronics items.

Maybe they grandfathered in older account? No idea.

I prefer not getting canned responses from poorly trained seals, who failed to learn English as a second language.

I agree 100%...and I have never encountered a 'poorly trained seal, who failed to learn English as a second language".

Well I'm not a member of any of them, so i asked here where many other people sell stuff online, and wouldn't you know, i actually got my answer. Seriously, what's with people acting butthurt or confused over me asking a business related question here?

Great advice. Saying there's probably a forum somewhere that might have an answer. About as useful as someone posting a link to Google and saying i'd have better luck checking there, even though i already had the answer posted in this thread.

Do you mean as an ATM withdrawal, or altogether?
Mine's > ""Daily spending limit: $3,000.00 | Daily ATM limit: $400.00""
Which, that ATM limit is well enough for me, in most cases, so I've never investigated it being raised.

Don't want to get banned for posting links to other forums. The mods here are low life idiots.
