I currently have the urls with dashes forwarding to the non dash urls.

If you are talking about which site will be better for SEO, then either. In fact, call it pigs-in-space.com and it won't make a damn bit of difference. Google stopped giving weight based on keyword domains many many moons ago.

In fact, I have a sense that Google prefers shorter domains so the hyphens may even hinder progress. That is why I wondering why you so keen on the hyphens.
