Serious question, not trying to start a fight here, but... Why do so many Americans hate President Obama?

Like Bill Clinton, Obama has created millions of jobs. There has been record job growth in the US. It has not been this high since Bill Clinton was president. And he did it despite GW Bush's record job loss. More jobs have been created *This Year*, than in any year of the Bush-Chenney Era, 2 of the years under Clinton, and any year under George Bush senior presidency.

The associated press (AP) says "Job gains put US on pace for best growth since 1999". Washington Post, New York Times and others all say similar. This has been the 10th month in a row where at least 200,000 new jobs have been added. Wow. It's the best jobs numbers in 15 years.

Next, Gas prices are going way down. Now of course Obama is not directly responsible for this, he was certainly blamed for the high prices. The LA Times reported that earnings for Americans are getting higher. Raises! Wow.

Next of course, the Down Jones hit 17,959 last Friday. When George W Bush left office, it was at only 7949. Since Obama has been in office, the Dow gas gained 10,000 points. Wow wow !!

Healthcare spending is down, and the uninsured rate fell by over 30% in a single year.

Just recently of course, Obama made a deal with China to reduce greenhouse gas emissions - a deal that many said would be impossible to make. But he did it.

Republicans seem to have done nothing at all to help. Of course they are on the opposing party but shouldn't government officials work together to at least solve some problems instead of try 52+ times to repeal healthcare because its "unconstitutional" (it isn't), and chase conspiracy theories about Bengazi (there were none).

Right now we have that clown Harper running our country. Long story short, he sucks. We'll gladly trade Harper for Obama any day.

job rate growth have anything to do with the job rate being extremely low when he first got into office? Meaning it would have gone up a lot either way? Cherry picked stats can be so misleading.

Personally I think that Obama is a complete disaster as a president and is not fit to run any jurisdiction except for a village full of idiots - maybe. But I have no say in the matter and my opinion on it doesn't count. I just know that I definitely wouldn't want him here. It's bad enough that we might end up with someone who is actually worse than him next year - Justin Trudeau.

As for Harper I think he has done a decent, not perfect, job and does not deserve to be accused of things like "ruining the country" and other over-the-top accusations. That is just the talk of bitter left-wingers who cannot stand the thought of anyone even slightly right of centre being in office even if they are doing a decent job.

Kathleen Wynne is doing a far worse job with Ontario than Harper is with the country. And as Canada's most populous province and largest economy that can have negative effects right across the country.

It's funny that when we had record unemployment, it was all Obama's fault, but soon as the job market turns good Obama has nothing to do with it.

The simple fact is it's Republicans just hate Obama "because" he's Obama and they have hated him since the moment he started his campaign. They have never once given the guy a chance and soon as he was elected the right wingers in congress started trying to block everything they could and were eventually able to grind the govt to a stand still.

People on the left don't necessarily hate Obama, but they are pissed that he really wasn't a Democrat. Obama is to the Right of Reagan and is only considered left because he's a Democrat.

I'd say most of the gripes from the left about Obama is he didn't do more to reel in the NSA and never shut down Gitmo as he promised to do.

I mean think about this for one minute.. Bush wasn't even looking for bin Laden by the end of his term. Meanwhile under Obama's watch we found him and Obama had the balls to send troops into a so called "friendly" country to take him out.

I am however mindful that everybody has their own opinion and that I cannot force them to share mine and I cannot assume that they share mine.

There is a difference between telling someone that their opinion sucks and claiming that your opinion is representative of everybody else like the OP did.

I just think he know's what the topic of conversation is going to be. Federally we are running a surplus, while in Ontario there's a deficit. Wynne is more than likely going to ask for some of that surplus to be allocated for Ontario. I believe there have been articles in some papers (certainly not in the The Star though) that have quoted Harper as saying that Wynne should be concentrating less on confrontation, and more on getting her house in order.

I don't know how much he spent, but George W Bush spent 879 days on vacation, vs Obama's 150 days. It's no big deal either way though as they don't really hurt the nation. Roosevelt went fishing his reelection to a 3rd term while Britain was under attack by Germany. He spent his time coming up with the Lend-Lease program which aided Britain. Also, presidents pay for their own vacations. Taxpayers pay for the president to keep working, but lodging and meals are extra.

A forecast of surplus is ahead for 2015 or 2016 , but Harper has already spent it as he began his electoral campaign .

The average American is a lazy and poorly educated slob that adores beating his chest. And the following is how he forms his opinions on the world and pretty much any issue.

1. Mr. Joe Average American comes home from work and the first thing on his mind is stuffing something in his mouth. But he's lazy so it's either microwaved toxins, cheese in a can or bacon (preferably microwavable bacon).
   
2. Goes into his living room and drops his ass in the couch in order to channel surf. On TV he's basically looking to watch violence or nudity or stupidity and if he's lucky all 3 at the same time. So after a few moments of flipping through the stations he finds nothing but stumbles upon some loud mouth newscaster bitching and screaming at everyone and everything.... and... well... it's mildly entertaining
   
3. Then when he's done watching TV he drops his ass in front of his computer. Once again he's looking for stupid or naked. So he looks at kittens... watches some girl in a bikini doing a face plant on youtube... strokes off to some porn... Then when that's over he goes "searching" for something but he's got no clue what he wants and most often ends up looks up whatever the television loud mouth was bitching about.
