More like Bitpay "accepts bitcoin" rather than microsoft which accepts real money exchanged from bitcoins by bitpay.

You could have exchanged your bitcoins into dollars at bitpay and use it anywhere (including windows store) even before this announcement. The only difference - more convenient integration. But technically they are still accepting dollars and not bitcoins.
