Cubans can now leave the country providing they have some sort of papers to another. They no longer need the exit visa they needed before.
I have been to Cuba about 8 times and Im American. You just needed to go via a third country. With this change it could become legal to go direct again and not only for Humanitarian reasons. |
i knew this would happen someday - just glad i went before ;)
and now i just read the 3 cuban guys that were jailed in Florida will be released, that should be huge, there were pictures of them all over Cuba to release them already |

They flew in from Canada or Mexico . They had no issues coming in or getting out , and enjoyed their stay as people were welcoming to them ... naturally, they were not there undercover assets or breaking the law ... This is the end of the Cuba I know ... |

He should be more worried about Russia's currency and economy collapsing, and what desperate measures Russia will take to stop the crash. It's mostly our fault imposing all the sanctions and blockades on them so they can't borrow money. They need to use this opportunity to get Putin the fuck out of the Ukraine and restore that region ASAP.

Sure there were travellers. On dec 5th 2014, at Holguin Airport, there was a American Airlines plane scheduled for departure ....I did not take a pic of it ... |

I've always gone to Cuba without permission.
Honestly, what kind of a person, especially an American who boasts about freedom, asks permission from their own government to go somewhere? You're free or you're not. You support the troops because they "fight for your freedom," yet you must ask permission to visit select countries or not permitted at all. Truly bizarre. |
I can't understand why some people feel okay with Cuba being locked in time in the 1950's so that wealthy tourists can go there and visit it like a museum and say "how quaint".
This article is worth a read for anybody who might lament the passing of Cuba "as we know it": Welcome to Cuba | World Affairs Journal Cuba as we know it now is a repressive police state shit-hole with no freedom for its people. Everyone should be saying good riddance to Cuba as we know it. . |

I wish it were that easy to ditch their government and open the place up, but it's not. It's going to come at a cost. :Oh crap |
and of course people like Marco Rubio are already steaming about what stupidity Obama has just committed.

What good is free education when you can't do anything with it? And most of their "free education" is no doubt full of marxist/communist/revolutionary dogma, revised history and brainwashing. Getting no education would be better than getting that kind of education. And is this the "free healthcare" you are referring to?: Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico Free Health Care in Cuba? - Havana Times.org Free does not mean good. Cuba was better off before the revolution. Sure they may have needed a revolution but a communist revolution made things infinitely worse. . |

i was sure this day would be coming, i just thought it would be after 2018 when the Castros resigned but maybe they decided to leave a positive memory with their people |
I'm in north Cuba AKA Miami.

The 50 year embargo did nothing for the Cuban people, it just hardened and isolated Castro. The Cuban Revolution was inevitable and necessary, Kennedy admitted the US got what it deserved. Relations should have been normalized decades ago, there'd have been a better chance of reforming Castro that way than continuing the embargo.

Not everyone is trapped there. Their system is far from perfect, but none of them (except the wealthy) would be able to go to school or afford healthcare otherwise. It is much, much better than nothing. Again, compare Cuba to their neighbors. Cubans run circles around them in literacy, healthy care, and education. Unfortunately, that comes at a cost. They can't have it both ways. Only Cubans can decide which way they want it, but both isn't an option. |
Wondering .... will Cuba join NATO ??????
:1orglaugh |
Damn, guess us Canadians will have to spend our time hanging around Anti-gun and Pro health care rallies if we want to visit a place devoid of Americans.

Cuban hookers for everybody!!

We were just looking at buying a 20 Hectare ranch there for 15 K. but now I dont think it will be worth it. Something tells me there will be another land grab right before it truly opens.
