Robbie 12-24-2014 04:36 PM

Seriously? People are too ingrained at stealing to pay $5.99 to watch it?

No wonder sales are down so far.

Stealing a movie like that is just pathetic and sorry assed.

candyflip 12-24-2014 04:45 PM

I bought it. Totally worth it to show them that people want digital distributional of new movies just like this.

EXACTLY. Property rights form the bedrock of freedom and liberty.

Plus, it's ironic that people are talking about torrents on this kind of board. Protect your rights, guys, by protecting OTHERS' rights...

mineistaken 12-24-2014 05:11 PM

So it is safe to assume that Koreans distributed it as a revenge (following the bullshit propaganda claims and all) lol

How ironic? I mean pirate sites (tube8 etc) were even board sponsors at one point or another...
Or big piracy funders (crakrevenue etc) are getting awards and bro hugs..
So not much irony in torrent sites being mentioned in "positive" context :2 cents:

seeric 12-24-2014 05:18 PM

I bought it. Fuck North Korea and anyone who tries to stop people from seeing things that are protected.

If you allow one chink in the armor, you are playing with fire.

seeandsee 12-24-2014 05:58 PM

Lol i am just pointing out that movie is already on torrent and downloading like crazy, what the fuck are you talking? i didt post any links to torrent or something...

so best is not to talk about anything on board, you have better topics...

I'm afraid i will have to steal it because they only sell it to US people - shows the absurdity of licensing that still exists

slapass 12-24-2014 07:30 PM

How can you buy it?

Maybe they are working on internationally distributing it. Stealing is never the way.
I rented it off the google playstore and I'm going to use my ChromeCast to watch it on my big screen t.v. this evening.

Or you can just steal it. And that makes you a thief. :( I hope that's not really what you intend to do. But stealing is stealing no matter how you want to justify it.

I don't know what to tell you.

But if I lived in a country that you wouldn't license your content to me...and I simply stole it...well, you get the idea.

Downloading torrents is very 2005. It's actually fucking pathetic.

Why don't you pay for it like a civilized person with an income?

hadden 12-24-2014 10:23 PM

goat balls

Diomed 12-24-2014 11:33 PM

The only time I ever download anything via torrent is when it's not available for purchase anywhere or I don't have access.

For instance,

There are some great british television shows and UK documentaries that only air on TV in the UK and I have zero way to access it.

Is it wrong? Maybe. But I figure if it's a TV show or TV documentary airing in the uk that will never hit DVD then I am an unknown quantity in the first place and represent zero percent of their lost market.

Robbie 12-25-2014 12:09 AM

I just watched it on Chromecast (rented it through Google Play Store)

Funny as hell if you like Rogen's comedy (which I do). James Franco steals the show (just like he did in "This Is The End")

Horatio Caine 12-25-2014 12:28 AM

Didn't find it very funny. Would give 2 stars out of 10.
I think it would've bombed in the theaters.

It certainly would've. I almost had to give myself a battery acid enema to get through the movie.

In fact it's such a bad movie that I know believe the Sony hack is just a publicity stunt... Makes sense when you consider that North Korea has only 1000 IP addresses and only 4 lousy gateways to the Internet rooted through China. If North Korea was responsible then I'm guessing they're who stole my old USR Robotics 2400 baud modem.

When you mention USR Robotics that trigger some happy memories :1orglaugh

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to both of you! I wish you both the best of fortune and success in 2015. (sincerely)

If I might pose one question that's bothering me. Why is it a problem to wait until the film is available in your area?

After all, the film isn't going to change its storyline in a couple of months. In fact it might be to your benefit because if you waited you'll have access to reviews about the movie and can better decide if you're willing to spend your money on it.

Exactly, cannot believe people are too cheap to pay 6 bucks for a film.

Don't they have culture in your nation? I mean I've got to believe that someone in another nation would have to really desperate to want to steal pretty much any Hollywood made movie of the last 15 years. And in the case of this movie it's super bad... Easily the dumbest movie ever made since the invention of photography

This movie was designed to do 2 things
A) Troll the North Korean head of state by turning him into an international joke
B) Make certain brain dead rednecks shake their fists and scream "USA! USA! Fuck North Korea!"

This movie is so bad that I now honestly believe the entire hacking is just a publicity stunt. After all I can NOT believe that the North Koreans would've been over-joyed to see it fail miserably at the box office

Robbie 12-25-2014 05:11 PM

I thought it was funny.

I don't take a movie like that seriously. By the way, I also enjoy "sophisticated" humor and at the same time I'm a sucker for the old 3 Stooges short films. :)

Lighten up!
