New Year's Resolutions - do you still go there?

This may have been done and if so, then my apologies - but I was just curious - do you even bother with them anymore? If so, what is yours for 2015?

I don't - I quit smoking in October of 2013 and that was the one thing I always said I was going to do - that year I didn't and managed to quit. I failed at others, as always. lol

For this and all years from this point on -
1) I just want to be the best me I can be, not perfect, because I am not, just the best version I can be

2) I want to work hard, get back on my feet and STAY on them, and not let others stand on them like I have the past year or so - letting people bring me down and kick me when I get there. I work hard and that's how I want to be seen!

So for the first time in a lot of years, I don't think I will make ANY New Years Resolutions at all, and not even give it a thought - just be the best me I can be!

Let me wish all of you a Happy New Year - I wish you all nothing but happiness and value - as human beings, just be valuable in your world, not monetarily, but as a human being - be someone that matters - :D

I have a few such friends that have picked me up off the ground and gave me a hand up, not a hand out, but a hand up - and for those people, I will always be so grateful!! You know who you are, I don't have to tell you!! :thumbsup

First, If there is something I wanna do I do not postpone it.
Second, if I was to postpone it I would not postpone it to a day where everybody expect it to fail.

When I was younger I had 2 requirements for New Years evening, hookup with a new chick and smoke a cigar.. Growing up in Denmark made that pretty easy :-)

My idea was that it would set the standards for the rest of the year

Work hard, make more money.

dyna mo 12-29-2014 11:17 AM

absolutely still go there. It's another opportunity to set goal(s), which I do all the time. to-do lists, bucket list, etc. big fan.

my 2015 new year's resolution is to learn more about and understand electricity, that shit is like magic!

if it didn't happen to coincide with new year's, I'd simply add it to the bucket list I have going.

Well that just may be an unattainable goal, my friend - but feel free to try - they are like crack, you just can't stop. :thumbsup

Goals I am all about - make those quite a bit myself - but I don't reserve that for January 1st, it's an "all the time" kind of thing. lol

I would but right now i don't know what the fuck i'm doing so i'll maybe consider some at a later date...

incredibleworkethic 12-29-2014 11:23 AM

I call them year long resolutions. :) I start them when I discover that they have to happen.

You sound like me, but I am doing something totally new and different for me, and while the frustration is about to tear me to my knees, the build back up and the challenge is so what I needed to dig out. lol

Yes, me too - if something comes up, I get hard at it right then - if I try and plan them, I always land on my face wondering what I tripped on to get down there. lol :thumbsup

how is a resolution different than a goal?

I was thinking the mindfuck one does versus the other - goal is a lot less pressure than resolution. :1orglaugh

I think a goal is something you work towards, whereas you have more of a 'definite' with a resolution? fuck knows but this wagon wheel I'm eating is well tasty :upsidedow

I made a life resolution when I was about 16. Get money and work as little as possible. I'm sticking to it.

This year I'll do something related to my job.

Seth Manson 12-29-2014 01:31 PM

My goal for 2014 was to loose weight. I was 251 lbs, and now I am 225. My goal for 2015 is the same, although this time I want to be below 200 by the end of 2015. Completely within reach.

Yeah, within reach if you quit being so damn popular and getting all those free pizzas.

Good point - perfection doesn't need any help, does it? Better things to do now? lol

I am far from perfect but am ok with MOST of my imperfections. lol

Finish my 2014 resolution (< :eyecrazy>), venture capital by 2016 and do an IPO by 2018 -- cash out and retire in comfortable luxury by 2025.

New Year's Resolutions are just annual goal-setting ... I like challenges :1orglaugh
