Humans are beginning to tream men as humans beings. Petition for Marshawn Lynch

Treat not tream. fuck I wish we could edit thread titles

If a female had anxiety issues giving interviews and she was bullied financially and publicly humiliated by an organization then there would be an uproar and sponsors would end their business relationships. But of course men are second class citizens and and therefore cannot be victims. Men are much less likely to be considered victims of domestic violence and they do not have the same compassion extended to them as females in most situations.

It is nice to see humans are beginning to evolve and treat men as actual human beings.

12th Man to NFL: Stop 'bullying' Lynch over media interviews | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News

SEATTLE - A petition from a Seahawks fan asks the NFL to revise its media policy so that Marshawn Lynch does not have to talk with reporters after a game.

The petition was posted Sunday on GoPetition.com and had more than 14,500 signatures by Tuesday morning.

The fan's petition says Lynch has a "very obvious anxiety" interacting with the media. And, since the NFL advocates against bullying and domestic violence it shouldn't force its players into uncomfortable situations and "bully" them with fines.

Lynch has been fined $100,000 for not talking to the media at times over the past two seasons. Recently he has answered questions by saying, "Thanks for asking" or "I'm thankful."

Here is the text of the petition, as posted on GoPetition.com:

“As a 12, I am calling on the NFL to revise its media policy so that all players are given equal and fair rights as a human being without fear of financial intimidation.

As a fan, I have witnessed enough harassment and undeserving consequences regarding Marshawn Lynch due to his very obvious anxiety interacting with the media. I feel, and many agree, that what you are doing is wrong. You advocate against bullying and domestic violence, but force your players into uncomfortable situations? With a fine attached? There are other players willing to talk to the media and it should be a personal choice.

Your rules state "Reasonable cooperation with the news media is essential to the continuing popularity of our game and its players and coaches." I don't feel your rules are reasonable as they read currently, considering the only benefit "popularity" wise the NFL gets by bullying Marshawn is money out of his paycheck. This is not ok. And it needs to change because its unnecessary and cruel, as well as hypocritical.

Enough is enough!”

Nope, sorry. This is 2015 and people need to evolve. He has anxiety which is a mental health issue. He is being bullied and harassed. He should file a restraining order against his abusers.

nope, he's a celebrity sports figure with 1000s of fans, part of the deal he AGREED to was to speak to the media. in return he gets to play pro football, get paid millions of dollars and have throngs of adoring fans.

that's plenty of motivation to work through some bullshit mental issue that he uses as an excuse instead of saying, "hey thanks to the offensive line I score a TD!"

it ain't that hard and let's not get pussified that saying a few words into a microphone is some sort of mental assault.

And if we were talking about a woman you would go on a message board and say the exact same thing about the exact same situation?

of course. this isn't a gender issue. it's a dickhead issue, he's being a dickhead. His fans want to hear from him, they pay his multi-million dollar salary. his interviews aren't primarily for the NFL, they are for him, that then translates into benefit for the NFL.

he's a dickhead, not a mental defective. and I'd call any woman that does the same a dickhead too!

Social anxiety disorder is a known treatable condition. It is treated with a combination of cognitive therapy and drugs such as Wellbutrin.

Success rate is quite high. He has the money and can afford it and clearly could if he desired to do so. Failure to do so is his fault.

1. Wellbutrin exacerbates anxiety. 2. So he's supposed to go on powerful psychotropic medicines which aren't effective, hasten his likelihood to kill himself, cause ED, weight gain etc just to give some interviews? Ricky Williams had the same issue. He treated it the natural way with pot & yoga, but he was suspended for that. So yea, psychotropic medications is the way to go. This is the problem. The pharmaceutical companies have brainwashed everyone into thinking these drugs actually work.

In addition I also mentioned cognitive therapy.

Women don't get paid millions of dollars to play sports, so I don't think chicks are exactly oppressing guys on this one. What would be an analogous situation for a woman with social anxiety?

I am sympathetic to someone suffering from social anxiety. He carries a heavier burden than the next guy, in that regard. But he has advantages that many others don't.

I believe in personal choice, but I'm not a fan of meds someone would have to take every day to address an occasional issue. Also, I'm a big believer in Skinnerian conditioning. Face your fears and conquer them.

Mr. Anxiety doesn't have any problem taking money from various companies to do commercials for them. I think he just doesn't like talking to the media for any number of reasons and is trying to find any reason not to do it.

exfuckingactly.

the dude is not suffering. If there were some sort of contract stipulation that seriously impacted a medical condition he has that shit would be addressed in the contract. Just like the fines are written into it.

fuck him. and don't get me wrong, sherman is just as big a dickhead when it comes to off-field jibber jabber, he just spouts too much of that nonsense while lynch just acts like a jackass.

they're also a bunch of dickheads off the field and in-between plays. FTR, I'm a fan of NFL football, I loathe the NFL as an organization and disagree with the exalted status we give pro athletes.

She has the balls to show her face and speaks clearly with intent. Your avatar is a cartoon. You're anti Western, anti Gay and degrade women. What a waste.

American Psycho 01-13-2015 05:03 PM

Also btw claiming to have anxiety is bs... he plays at a high level in front of millions. that clearly discounts any anxiety claim. Duh

Only dummies would belive that shit and illustrate clearly they've never played in front of a big crowd ,it takes nerves of steel.

If Jennifer Lawrence refused to do red carpet interviews her career would be over. If you are afflicted with an anxiety disorder you either overcome it or you accept the fact that being a celebrity may not be the best path for you. Much like someone terrible with numbers ought not to become an accountant, or someone with weak tastebuds needs to avoid a career as a sommelier.

If you live in the Seattle area you will see/hear him in several commercials. During baseball season you couldn't listen to a Mariner game without hearing at least three different commercials that had him in them.

If he agreed to it in his contract he should do the interviews or be willing to accept a lesser contract :2 cents:

It is actually part of the NFL rules. The league itself has specific rules about when the players are supposed to make themselves available to the media on game days and during the week of practice.
