These stats refer to United Kingdom merchants using CyberSource. This is in no way representative for worldwide online fraud.

No, only the article linked above is. That list is not. Check this out: Malaysia amongst top e-commerce fraudulent countries list - E27

There are many other studies. For example, here is an article from Forbes (the USA is #2 in the list): Countries With The Most Card Fraud: U.S. And Mexico - Forbes

As you can see, the USA is in the top 3 everywhere.

ITraffic 01-15-2015 08:23 AM

Nigeria, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pakistan, Denmark.

The USA has a very high credit card processing approval and fraud rate but you need to understand why, most people are thinking 1999 style on fraud rate country banning -- and we profit by it :1orglaugh
  1. Credit card fraudsters use VPNs and proxies -- they know their countries are on your shit list.
  2. Most of the stolen credit cards ( and stolen credit card data) is from the USA.
  3. Friendly Fraud on USA cards is very common, this has a lot to do with VISA (other card associations) and Banks accepting most customer claims. The customer says it was an unauthorized charge. In reality a member of the family used Mommy or Daddy's credit card on a porn site.

A lot of the USA credit card fraud is persons impersonating USA cardholders and then the banks issuing charge backs.

No credit card fraudster uses an IP from the countries on your 'lists' unless he is a total 'tard -- he knows you will block him :1orglaugh

Re-read my post again. It was not an online scam.

It was a debt card, but why do you ask? I had a single card-related scam case and it happened in the USA.

OK -- well the post title does say what are the top countries for fraud?

I wasn't thinking POS/ATM Swiped Transactions. So, it was an ATM clone job? Or, a POS theft?

I had assumed that we were discussing online (no card present) fraud.

Well a card fraud is a card fraud. And there is no mention of "online" fraud in the thread tittle ;)
