To me, Barcelona has a much better weather, is cheaper and interesting.

Amsterdam is for those who smoke weed everyday.

Lived in both.. that is a very difficult decision

re weed.. Barca has members only smoking cafes and weed delivery.
Cost, central Barca or Amsterdam, probably not that much different.

I'd go Barca, mainly due to the weather. Winter in Amsterdam can get a bit depressing.

I would choose Amsterdam. Spain has all kinds of economic problems. Plus, just about all of Europe is only an hour flight from Amsterdam (London, Paris, Berlin, Prague, etc).

Barcelona hands down!
Weather, weed, hash, sluts, parties, food, etc.
Each one of those is cheaper and/or better in Barcelona.

Spain is starting to pick up, 400k+ jobs created lastyear and looking at about 2% growth this year.

absolutely. The building work is still growing & many more jobs, as you've mentioned are in Spain.

It's a bit chilly here atm, but still nothing like northern Europe :thumbsup

I prefer Barcelona to Amsterdam by a long margin. What's not to love about it? You have the beach right in the city, amazing bars, nice people, great food, lots of shopping. Amsterdam has most of that too, I know but it doesn't have it to the same degree.

there is not even debate here. Barcelona all the way. I have been living here for 11 years.

Going to Amsterdam to pay everything 2 times more expensive and spending your life riding your bike under the rain ? come on... ;-)
