I've been using google chrome for a while, now with firefox, I notice there's a non tracking option in the menu.

I understand this would effect the google analytics on my websites if tracking is stopped?

You mean for Anonymous browsing ??
Most time this is for ad tracking, but anyone that wants to stealth browse can.. even safari offers this.

I've never covered my browsing, so this is new to me. Seems new to FF.

It's not new.

It will have the effect of a bumper sticker, few notice, less care.
