Scott Walker's tax cut a bust for Wisconsin
Not long ago Gov Scott Walker was taunting his big tax cuts, telling everyone that it would inspire job growth as the rich trickle down their wealth to the lower tiers. Yes as it seems some never learn, try as they might over and over this trickle down theory always crashes and burns.. Just like the state budget in Wisconsin after his tax cuts..
The state now faces major shortages in their budget, but wait they know right where to get the money.. As Pink Floyd might say.. "We don't need no education".. (but it seems they need "thought control") Yep the floundering budget shortfalls after Walker's tax cuts, will now come right from higher education in the form of a $300 million dollar cut to state education... Wisconsin Just Proposed Something That Will Infuriate College Students Everywhere - attn: Hey maybe next time that trickle down will work.. most likely when it's someone pissing on your head. Maybe Scott Walker should of paid a bit more attention to math class, then he would understand a budget can not be maintained if spending money with no income.. |

In a related development, Gov. Scott Walker is proposing the first ever "college home schooling" program in the nation. Under this innovative proposal, parents will be able to shield their children from the socialist, communist, fascist, muslim, anti-christian, anti-family values agenda that is currently infesting Wisconsin's public higher education system. Furthermore, it will help reduce costs and save tax payer money since those parents will be teaching their children using their own private resources. It's a win-win for everyone! |
I had the unfortunate experience of visiting Wisconsin after Walker was elected; it was enough of an experience to ensure I never voted for any Tea Party candidate.

Speaking of.... Wasn't this Minte's guy? Whatever happened to Minte?
|
Seems like it's a problem in every state but why pass up the chance to hate someone again today.
"The examples of Wisconsin and California may extreme, but this has been a nationwide problem over the course of the past decade because the funding sources of public colleges and universities in the United States have undergone a radical transformation." |

Yes, people must be taxed more. More taxation is the only answer.
More govt. Less money in the pockets of the people who earned it. Look how well THAT has worked for our country. Don't you guys think that taking your money and giving it to greedy lifetime bureaucrats may not be the wisest move? They already spend more than they take in (most of us would call that irresponsible). And yet with all the money they take in...there are still homeless people, poor people, infrastructure crumbling, etc. But those lifetime bureaucrats? They don't miss any meals, they live in big nice houses, they get full medical benefits, and they drive nice cars. And they funnel money to all of their cronies. I can't believe that anyone would want MORE taxes. Of course the percentage of people in the general population who get govt. money and don't pay much in taxes are all for taxing people more. Doesn't cost them a penny. But why on Earth would any of you on this forum want that? I can only assume that all of you are professionals who earn money and pay taxes. And I also believe that all of you have eyes to see and aren't blind to the amount of money the govt. takes in via taxation in all forms. Surely you would rather see govt. spending reform than to give those crooks even MORE of your money wouldn't you? |
|
What do you expect from Republicans? They are no different than the other party in the 2 party system. A bunch of crooks who can't stop spending other people's money.
Meanwhile it doesn't matter how much they get...they will find a way to spend MORE than they get every time. Easy to do when you aren't the one earning it. The real victims are the people who work and pay taxes. Not the "poor" govt. |
What would you like to *reform*?
Start with the Form attachments in completing your Form 3800 filed with your 1120 Corporation return; Quote:

What I'd like to "reform" would be people in Washington D.C. (and in state and local govt.'s) spending money like there is no tomorrow. Not ever worrying if they actually HAVE that much to spend.
Deficit spending is destroying our country. Do you think that paying more taxes from your pocket will "fix" things? Do you actually think that your money will go towards the public good? It won't. If you haven't noticed over the decades and decades of history that the Republicans and Democrats have been in power together...NOTHING ever gets "fixed". But EVERYTHING requires MORE spending. While you're so busy trying to come up with ways to make people give more of their hard-earned money to these lifetime/career bureaucrats...maybe you should be DEMANDING of your govt. to be responsible and not spend more than they have. Can you even imagine if you just spent as much money as you wanted to and when the bill came due...claimed that you just need MORE money and that is the problem? I ask you again...do you really want to be taxed MORE after seeing what the 2 party system has done so far? The federal govt. has been bringing in record "revenue" (taxes) for years. And STILL they run a deficit every fucking year. :( |

I'm sure as a business owner you can understand basic math. That basic math being if you don't have X amount of joins you don't pay your bills. You can whine about taxes all you want and be an apologist for Scott Walker.. However no matter how much you hate to pay taxes there is a reason we all do.. If you don't want to pay taxes, perhaps you should move to some shit hole country in Africa where you get nothing for your tax dollars because you pay nothing.. It's very simple to understand that as a civilized society, we have to have a govt that takes care of certain things.. As a civilized society we have learned the certain things like "education", fire departments, roads, police forces and lots of people to take care of these things are necessary.. It seems rather than be a fascist state where the govt controls all oil production, gas and other forms of making money, we instead have to pay taxes. Yes it's a shame that people whom live in a civilized society have to pay a little money. Perhaps in Robbie's world everything would be peachy & rosy and the fairy god father would cover all the bills.. Unfortunately we all live in a place called reality, where taxes must be paid and budgets must be balanced.. Unfortunately Scott Walker failed math and had rosy dreams much like you which led him to believe collecting less taxes than the budget require would work out great.. Sadly, his dreams were dashed when reality showed it's ugly head.. |

Bye bye Scott Walker as a presidential candidate. |

Here's a good example to see what kind of shitbird Wisconsin is dealing with....
Gov. Scott Walker seeks $300 million in university cuts, but $220 million to build Bucks a new arena I love how is web site was spinning the while tax cut thing as a success a few months ago $2 Billion in Scott Walker Tax Cuts are Growing Wisconsin?s Economy. |

Oh, come now, obviously the good Governor is just helping the state by dumbing down the next generation to create a better mindless work force and keep tax dollars high, as uneducated are more likely to stay in their home towns while educated people usually seek out better jobs or opportunity.. He's just thinking of the future and building that stadum keeps them entertained.. :1orglaugh |

Now that's rich. A guy talking about how lower income people would change their tune if they "had to" pay the same as higher income people. When in reality the lower income people pay a higher percentage (and hence "pay more") than rich people who enjoy the lowest tax rates out of us all.
Rich I tells ya'. |

democrats come along and figure: "if we raise our percentage to 60 and give the affiliate 40 we'll make more $$"... great in theory, but reality is many affiliates will figure "fuck that", and move to a different program that pays them a fairer %... aka moving their company offshore... look, you run an affiliate program and it's not doing so well... what do you do? raise your cut to 60%? long term will realistically anything good come out of that move? or perhaps do the opposite run a 60% promotion for affiliates, which will hopefully attract more business for your program? |

But any discussion of the govt. TAKING more of the people's money is always going to draw fire from me. 2. No, he's one of the most protested governors because Ed Shulz and MSNBC got behind the one protest a couple of years back when Walker broke the govt. union. Which is what President Franklin Delano Roosevelt specifically said that govt. employees must NEVER be able to unionize because they work for the people. As far as what Walker has done or not done in Wisconsin...I have no idea. I don't even know the makeup of the legislature. And as far as I'm concerned he's nothing more than just another lifetime/career politician/bureaucrat/crook. My only question is: WHY would you want to give him even MORE money by taxing hard working people? Especially since you obviously hate him because he's a republican? |

We DO need govt. and we DO need govt. to do the things that it does very well. We DON'T need govt. to invade other countries and spend over 1 TRILLION dollars a year on "Defense" (what a joke...we haven't had another country invade us since the war of 1812), Nuclear weapons, and "Homeland Security" Hundreds of billions of dollars could be freed up from that to take care of the poor in our own country and to build our infrastructure and balance the budget. But Republicans will NEVER do that because of their cronies in the military weapons industry. And Democrats don't do anything either because they get money from them too. 2 Parties...both together have fucked our country. :( |

We get it, you hate taxes and don't trust the government(s), etc. I don't think you realize what has happened. Walker (and others), promised low taxes to get elected. They also gave huge tax breaks to their campaign donors. They cut taxes so much that now they cannot afford to pay their bills. This has happened in several states, not just walkers. This means no money for public utilities like water, food, transportation, health, police, fire, etc. Sure no one wants to pay sky-high taxes and sure some tax money will be used for evil instead of good, but the problem that Walker has created is huge. If he gets away with it and somehow becomes president, who's to say he won't do exactly the same thing? |

I agree with Robbie and I don't trust the government.
All of the politicians suck, regardless of party. They all spend money. Everyone for the most part is acting in a self-interested way. They need to get elected, they can't do that without raising money and owing political favors all around town. I think it's incredibly distateful to want to spend $220M on an arena and then try and cut education by $300M. Just shows that hes a piece of shit. And I can cite numerous examples of Republicans raising taxes or spending $ they don't have. Democrats are just as bad. They'll cite the need for more 'revenue' for good-hearted reason XYZ. I love how they call it 'revenue' when for the tax payer its a 'cost.' Imagine that, them saying they are going to raise people's costs, doesn't sound so good does it, and it shows you it's an us vs them mentality (politicans vs the public). So long as the money increases from the people to them, we are empowering these idiots on both sides of the aisle. Regardless of what they get, the money will always be spent, and the results will almost always be marginal to shit, because there is no accountability. Money on it's own doesn't solve problems, and once the money is acquired, there's nothing preventing it from being spent in poor, inefficient ways and that is exactly what happens. You're not going to give a 16 year old a Ferrari and expect him to be a good driver. Think about the analogy. I've resigned myself to this and the only thing that's left is what smart people are doing, and that's to legally minimize your tax burden as much as you can, something politician's don't seem willing to acknowledge is a reality in their proposals. You can argue about what is ideologically right or wrong, but for a lot of people, this money is real, and they vote with their feet and actions. The politicians are the criminals, not the tax payers. I can tell you I am tired of every year politicians getting more and more in my pocket for reason X, reason Y, reason Z. We need this, we need that, we need more of this, we need more of that. We should run elections after tax day and see who gets elected. |

Excellent post. I only wish that some of the guys on here who blindly follow their "side" in politics could see this clearly:

I didn't really know the numbers...but I just looked them up.
If these numbers are true...then the OP original post is a complete fucking fabrication (not much surprise there): Anybody want to look at Wisconsin's debt? ... Bueller? ... Bueller? « Watchdog.org "After fiscal year 2013, the state’s real deficit, based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, is $1.7 billion. That’s down from the $2.9 billion when Gov. Scott Walker took office and is the lowest since 2003. The better-than-expected state revenue, some $760 million that materialized at the end of the past fiscal year, has played a big part in lowering that debt load." --- And here's another one: Despite $1 billion surplus, group says Scott Walker raising state deficit while borrowing is at record high | PolitiFact Wisconsin "Walker proposed the cuts after the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau in mid-January 2014 projected that the state will see, mostly as a result of higher-than-expected tax collections, a $977 million surplus by the time the current two-year budget cycle ends in June 2015. So, how is it that there is talk of a deficit? When we asked We Are Wisconsin for evidence to back its claim, the group said it was using "deficit" as shorthand for "structural deficit." But the two are different things. The structural deficit isn’t a measure of any deficit of funds in the current state budget. Rather, as calculated by the Legislative Fiscal Bureau, the structural deficit is a rough estimate of how tax and spending commitments will line up during the next budget period -- in this case, for 2015-’17." ---- So it looks like this is more lies and exaggeration by you-know-who to further his team's "side". Reality Check: Walker is out for himself and his cronies, just like every politician playing the game at that level is. So are all the Democrats. Why the fuck the OP can't just open his eyes and SEE is beyond me. |

Tax cuts are a good idea and they DO work...BUT they have to also include equivalent cuts in spending, and thats the part that politicians just cant seem to manage to do.
Robbie is 100% dead on the money as long as you are demanding that government pick up the tab for this and that you are enabling them to spend more which enales them to steal and mismanage more. Until Americans realize that we wont make any real progress |

Right here.. The state is facing almost a billion dollar budget short over the next 2 1/2 years.. State shortfall could be $928 million over next 2 1/2 years Right here shows where he cut 300 million in funding to the state colleges which will force layoffs.. UW System predicts layoffs, no campus closings under budget cuts Also that first site that you link about their billion in excess claims is a right wing mouth piece.. Seriously use a bit of brain power here.. "if" they had a billion dollar surplus do you think they would be cutting $300 million from the school systems? Use your brain and quit latching on to the first thing you google.. This is from the Wisconsin state government it's self.. Do you see a billion dollars of "excess" anywhere in those numbers? Quote:
http://legis.wisconsin.gov/lfb/publi...0estimates.pdf |
crockett, you just posted an estimate.
The REALITY of the budget in Wisconsin is that it was deeply in debt every year (under your beloved Democrats). And by cutting the taxes that deficit budget became a surplus. You know, businesses were able to hire more people, broader tax base, more revenue, etc., etc. And I SHOWED you how you LIED. The budget has been in the black the last few years after a long time of deficits every year. Why don't you address THAT? Why did the Dems roll up all that debt? Their high taxes didn't help one bit. Just like it didn't help in Detroit or Chicago. Dude...taking people's money and giving it to bureaucrats is NEVER a good idea. Is Scott Walker a piece of shit? Yep. No argument there. But YOU want to raise taxes and give him MORE money??? WTF?!?!?! Did he lower taxes because he "cares" about people? No, just like the Democrats...he does the things he does in office because he is helping his cronies and consolidating his own power. Anything "good" that ever happens for people under the 2-party system is pretty much just a side-effect. The REAL objective is making the ruling class (politicians) and their cronies richer and more powerful. The difference between you and I on these kinds of issues is that you "believe". I don't. It would be the same thing if you really, really believed that pro wrestling was real. You can't seem to understand that the two parties (just like two pro wrestling "opponents") are "dancing" together to achieve their goals. I'll say it again...stop playing party politics and wake up and smell the coffee. |

Robbie.. That is the state fucking govt.. It's not a lie, unless you are saying the state is fucking lying. Jesus dude put down the fucking crack pipe. If they had a billion dollar surplus they wouldn't be cutting 300 million from the school's budget. Seriously use your brain for two fucking seconds.. :Oh crap The last link on the budget was posted on Jan 23rd.. That's less than 10 days ago.. There is no surprise billion dollars that you are creaming your pants over.. He claimed at the start of the year there would be a surplus but it didn't happen.. He was "WRONG". The links you posted were from January 2014 This is January 2015 His billion dollar excess "DID NOT" happen.. They collected much "LESS" than he projected after his tax cuts.. Why is it so hard to get that through your head? Should I now call you a liar as you keep trying to call me? |

This article seems to suggest that the governor is simply borrowing large amounts of money in order to help fill in the budget needs.
Cutting taxes is great, but if they are making up for those tax cuts with large loans eventually those loans are going to have to be paid back. |

crockett, I'm only telling you what has been known for a few years now. Since Walker has been governor there has been a surplus. The DEFICITS that the previous governors were running (your "team") were reversed. The report you are babbling about is an ESTIMATE. It hasn't happened yet. I'm talking about what HAS happened. The title of your thread is "Scott Walkers tax cut a bust for Wisconsin". That is a lie. The state has had it's first years of budget surpluses. The DEFICITS happened under high taxes from Democrat leaders. That's easy for you to see. But you won't. As for bronco67...man, you are a weak troll. You aren't even trying to discuss the issue. You're just trying to label me because you yourself are labeled. Give it a rest. It won't work. I KNOW who I am and what I believe. YOU on the other hand belong to the Democrat Party. The ones who support drug laws. The ones who support "Obscenity" laws. The ones (just like the Republicans) who only want to control people such as yourself. I laugh at your pitiful attempts at trolling. Simply pathetic. At least crockett argues his points. You don't even try. :( |

Just like usual when you are shown to be wrong you just keep on pushing the same shit and trying to ignore it.. Robbie your link was from 2014 the surplus DID NOT happen. It was bogus/ wishful thinking by Walker and it didn't happen. They came up short.. I really don't know how many more times you have to be told this. The budget I linked was from 2014 & 2015 that's why it's an esitmate.. Just like your link which claims there would be a surplus.. That was not end of year accounting it was proposed wishful thinking that. unicorns danced and the sun and moon aligned then filled the state collections with fairy dust.. It was bullshit.. Yet. Ecause it supports the bullshit lie you keep trying to push its a fact Jack.. Yet everything else is hocus pocus in Robbie's world.. Pull your head out of the sand and quit lying in hopes of ignoring g that you are wrong.. http://www.isaiahhankel.com/wp-conte...ad-In-Sand.jpg They are half way through the 2 year budget I posted and have had to cut 300 million from the schools and borrow more money than the state has ever borrowed in its history.. Yet somehow that equates job well done by Walker to you, because you belive in this billion dollar surplus which was nothing but wishful thinking at the start of 2014... Also I love how you shove the deficit off on the pervious govenor, yet Walker has added to it by borrowing, yet it's all the Democrats fault.. Meanwhile under the exact same senero on the national level you would argue that it didn't matter what Bush did, that Obama was president and the deficit was his fault.. Funny how you go right agint the very argument you have made many times, when it suites your needs.. |
crockett...this is foolish.
Here are the FACTS. Wisconsin was known for decades as a "high tax" state. The state had deficits. All under DEMOCRAT rule. Walker lowered taxes on hard working people. The yearly deficits went away as more people went to work and the tax base broadened. Is Walker a piece of shit? HELL YES. Did Walker really do anything to "help" people intentionally. HELL NO. He should be "one and done" as they all should be. And forced to go back into the economy that he was in charge of and find work himself. He is a Republican. Which makes him nothing more than a part of the 2 party system which is responsible for EVERYTHING that has happened in our country. Now...what is your grand scheme? Let's take a look: You hate Walker. You claim he makes stupid mistakes and can't understand math. We both know he probably bows down to the religious nuts. Your solution: Raise taxes and give this man even MORE money taken from hard working people for him to funnel to his cronies??????????? WTF crockett? Why on Earth would you want to give a guy that you hate...more money? And why on Earth wouldn't you want hard working families to be able to keep THEIR money to spend as they choose (freedom)???? I honestly can't comprehend why you espouse taking people's money and giving it to crooks at every turn. The govt. is bringing in RECORD revenues. More money than ever before in history (or the history of any govt.). Don't you think they need to curb their spending instead of TAKING more from hard working people? |

And in this one you are a liar. The DEMOCRAT governors BEFORE Walker ran high taxes and huge deficits. Why isn't your thread entitled: "Dem Governors High Taxes A Bust For Wisconsin" ?
