Orbital pay question

So, got with Orbital Pay, but I have to say I am really not liking their system of depositing everything, then withdrawing their cut from me. Makes it very very hard to keep track of things, among other seemingly random charges. How do I stop this? When Zombaio was functional they sent just what was mine, no charges to my account, which seems ridiculous.

CCBill. I told you that.

mdwofficial 02-03-2015 06:49 PM

I have ccbill for one of my sites. Ccbil unfortunately hasn't worked with me when I wanted to resolve issues on my smaller site, or incorporate it for video sales on my larger one. So they weren't an option.

In theory OP could be fine, this is just a silly issue.

Your rebills with orbital pay will help you stop worrying about it. If you dont believe me and want to waste money let it run alongside 3rd party for awhile and compare.

You're welcome.

Are you saying theres no way for them to just send what is mine and keep what is theirs?

iamBoogieman 02-04-2015 12:21 AM

Ccbill is still the best. :)

I am sure if they were going to charge you 15% or in that neighborhood for processing they might be able to see their way clear to do that, but I doubt they would make that change just for you. I deal with 3 different private MID providers and this behavior is standard across all 3.

On the plus side,

1) when all is said and done I pay around 7% to process with them.
2) Orbital's invoices are much easier to understand (once you get used to them) than their competitors, some of which seem to intentionally obfuscate the fees.
3) I average (over 4 years time) 50% better rebills with private MIDS than I do with 3rd party, because 3rd party doesn't make repeated attempts to bill customers, they usually just drop declined cards after one attempt.
4) They deposit my funds within 2 business days vs 2 weeks with 3rd party

So 50% better re-billing rate + half the processing fee + cash in hand after 2 days + the ability to set my own custom scrub level based on what works best for me is more than enough reason for me to "just deal with it" as far as how they want to deposit my funds and withdraw their fees.

BTW there's 3 things they bill you for:
1) Discount
2) Reserve
3) Fees

Your daily deposits are the total you billed customers minus your discount and your reserve. Once they have whatever reserve you agreed on, (usually 10% for 6 months) they will "cap" it and stop witholding that, and your daily deposits will only be missing the discount rate.

The withdrawal you get at month's end is the fees, which TBH are hard to assess before the month is over anyway.

EXCELLENT POST! I love your take on this and your experience. Would love to pick your brains sometime about all this. Available on ICQ? :)

Karen is great, I'd be lost without her!

mdwofficial 02-06-2015 01:27 AM

Will reach out to you Karen. And its not be saying rebills etc won't be good. Just me saying that it turns my bank account into a mess and I am surprised thats not handled better when Zombaio did.

I prefer the cleanliness of ccbill which I've been approved for on the site in question, and have used on another site of mine, but am not averse to OP if I can work things out.

Merchant accounts are a trade off really. On the one side you get more of the money quicker, on the other side you have to do more work.

You can't have your cake and eat it sadly.
