Such a small request

A nine year old boy is terminally ill, and rather than asking for a trip to Disney or some such, all he wants is mail - and maybe some stickers. If anyone wants to participate, the address is in the article.

https://www.yahoo.com/parenting/term...089762782.html

I debated whether or not to post this here, but I know there are a lot of good folks here who would enthusiastically support such a cause.

To the rest, I would just say be cool.

So the parents have set up a post office box ? Attention: Bubby Everson: P.O. Box 1142, Graham, WA 98338 ? for their son in the hopes that generous strangers will send mail, cards and stickers to lift their little one?s spirits on his big day.

It's a cry for help.

I get it, but why shroud it in "He doesn't want an iPad" shit? His parents want an iPad when the poor fuck is dead. Crowdsourcing for costs and bullshit.

I'll send him a letter. It will read something along the lines of:

:Sorry you are sick bro. Your parents are trying to profit from your illness. Kill them before you die. There is a knife in the drawer. Do it. Go out with a bang. Just sayin...."

Then wait...

Fuck parents like that and fuck news agencies that sugarcoat shit.

Also, fuck OP for falling for it. :thumbsup

Good call. I hadn't heard about it.

Actually, I debated posting the story at all. Although there are good people here who would want to help, there are also a lot of assholes such as yourself that gave me pause. In the end, whatever douchery you come up with is on you, not me.

Are you really that naive that you can not read into it? I may be an asshole, but I am not an asshole that will laugh at a kid dying.

That being said, the story is for people that want to give MONEY but the sugarcoat it, using their son's supposed own words into being something it's not.

Yahoo posts shit for money. The family is trying to rake in money.

If they want money? Ask for it. I have no problem sending them a 20. Make it into something it's not? I question it.

Stop being a "holier than thou" cocksucker.

Keep in mind most of us here have kids also....

Last year or so I donated to a kid who had lost a limb and wanted to go to a special camp for people with similar disabilities. I too wondered if I should post it here but I did, a lot of people donated; Tony Morgan of Nat Net stepped up in a big way if I recall correctly. The mother was a friend of a friend on FB, and she found out who I was and went so far as to send me a card. Her daughter did in fact make it to the camp.

I'll buy some stickers later today and send them onto this kid....

Why A po box only and not an email address also for people to send emails to..
I'm sure there are 1000's of kids with access to email that would write and email who other wise wont send a letter

Harmon - I'm not interested in arguing with you. If you feel that the parents are in it for the money, then send the kid 100 cards with stickers. If it's really all the kid wants, then you will have helped make him a bit happier. If the parent's are really looking for money, then you can take some delight in knowing you wasted their time in opening 100 cards and finding nothing but stickers.

I bought some stickers the next day after reading this post and finally got around to sending them out. Hopefully it puts a smile on this kid's face.
