Kid Rock Devil Without A Cause

Devil Without a Cause is Kid Rock's fourth album. Produced by Kid Rock with John Travis, it was released in 1998 by Atlantic Records. It is Kid Rock's last album to be categorized as "hip hop" before crossing over to more traditional rock music.

Allmusic labeled the album as a "rap-rock masterpiece".

The album was certified 11 times Platinum by the RIAA by April 2003. It is Kid Rock's best-selling album, and as of December 2013, it has sold 9,300,000 copies in the US.

that would be killer!

The song "Bawitdaba" was landmark in the movement of rap metal along with the band Limp Bizkit and "Nookie". Prior to the two songs the genre had been hit and miss, with mainly rock groups teaming with rap groups.

"Cowboy" was also landmark ushering in an entire new genre "country rap" or "hick hop". The song has gone on to influence Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Big & Rich, Uncle Kracker, Gretchen Wilson, Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, Eric Church, Rehab, Moonshine Bandits and Colt Ford.

RIP Joe See

Straight out of the streets of Taylor
3 foot high...ready to get fly...Joe see
I'm the J-O-E to the see hoe
Call me Joe C...got more game than Coleco

I'm a freak hoe...call me sick
Three foot nine with a ten foot dick
The ladies pick, I'm a crazy hick
And run through town like I'm goin' through wine

It's my time so I'm gonna shine like lead
Old as piss, but small as ass
Watch me cash...smoke some hash
You're raking grass while I'm raking cash

Highest voice like Aaron Nevelle
And I'm down with The Devil
Say we like to party, rock the party

We like to party, rock the party
We like to party, rock the party
We like to party, rock the party
You like to party, rock the party
We like to party, rock the party
You like to party, rock the party

I saw Kid Rock about 6 years ago, almost by accident. I Just happened to be near the Bell Centre and passed a scalper selling tickets on the floor near the stage for cheap, and decided what the hell so I went.

It was a GREAT show. Really, really really good. It was even better because there were maybe 5000 people in the 15k seat auditorum and Kid Rock performed like it was the biggest crowd of his life. He played for about 3 hours, took time out to talk to the audience, revealed a big Quebec Flag side by side with an Alabama Flag, and worked in a bit of comedy too. He was also getting his drink on, taking shooters of whiskey (Jack Daniels? I forgot) fairly often but didn't get drunk or fuck up the show.

I would definitely go again.

Good story Mark.

I couldn't name a single song except the duo with Sheryl Crow was good. The guy gets around.

He's also got his own brewery, and the name...
what else?

When my nephew was about ten years old he could recite that whole rap by the midget word for word, I told him good job and that I was very proud of him.

I recently read a story about how he is raking in the cash with his tours by keeping ticket and merchandise prices low and playing more shows. If he goes to a town where he knows he could sell 20,000 tickets to a 8,000 seat venue instead of charging $100+ a ticket and selling it out for one night he will charge $30 a ticket and play for three nights. This way all his fans can afford to see him and and they have more money to buy his shirts and beer.

Smart guy.

Bawitdaba was amazing when it came out. Still a great song to get pumped up with.

I hear only good things about this guy, seems like a decent character.

I was at that show, turn out was terrible, show was one of the best I've been to. He recently played here in Phoenix, I tried to get tickets but it was a small venue and sold out quick.

I've been a kid rock fan from his hip hop days through rock into country and it's all amazing. Guy has some unbelievable talent, puts on an amazing show and seems like he'd a be a fun guy to hang out with. At least that's the image he portrays.
