Good fonts for video captioning?
Please recommend some good (and free!) fonts that look good on video captioning - i.e.. ones that are clear and have "boarders" around them so they are readable on clips with lots of light and darkness.
cheers. |

Sorry, I figured if it was good enough for sleazydream to use on absolutely everything, it had to be good enough for this.
Here's some real advice though. Best subtitle font? |
thanks but unfortunately, it didn't really help me because I'm using a rather basic video suite and I really need a font with a border so that its readable under all colour backgrounds.

You can't do the text in white and add a black outline to the text? I know you can even do that in windows movie maker.

Just add drop shadow or stroke to the text or make the watermark in any other image editing program - hell you can do it online - Online Photo Editor | Pixlr Editor | Autodesk Pixlr

I find Aerial (probably not spelt right) is good on vids.
Its nice and clear and thick letters. |
One option too is to do the text in an art package. Then save it.
Then if your vid editor supports it, put the pick onto the vid. This I would say is a better option. |
Was funny when we began using the black line behind the text, then Emmerdale on ITV began using the same font & similar style about a week later, I bet someone from ITV watches my movies :winkwink:
